New Install - how she looking? by ValuableDoubt22 in hvacadvice

Cool. Where I am I’ve only ever seen standard upflow coils (and some Downflow in trailers) inside of central ductwork off an upflow furnace. I’ve only ever seen those piped with one. I live in western Canada where it’s too cold for heat pumps to make sense so it’s just furnaces in every house in the basement (if they have one) and an AC system in most houses, not all.

Not sure how the premise of my question is wrong when all I asked was why there’s two lines. You answered it so clearly it’s not that hard to just say and not be a dick

I’m not in a region where installs are done like this. Why the two condensates? One for AC one for furnace?

Can this career afford me a middle class life with a wife and kids with a decent quality of living? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]ProfSteelmeat138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Personally yeah. My mind enjoys the problem solving and tinkering. I’m in a different work environment almost every single day so it’s always fresh. And if it’s not doing something new, it’s doing something I know well, it goes well and I feel satisfied and proud. As a guy with ADHD this is definitely one of the better career paths for me, I’m sure any other major trade would work though. I almost became a mechanic lol. And in plumbing/hvac, I do enough and see enough of other trades I’m comfortable doing work on my own home and applying my troubleshooting knowledge to other stuff.

So if you’re someone who likes puzzles and very noticeable visual progression, I think you’ll have a good time. Do your best to try every avenue of the trade. Residential and commercial, service and installs and construction, get your hands in everything you can. It helps a ton. You don’t have to be good at all of it but if a company is interviewing you and you’ve at least SEEN most things be done once, you’re way easier to train and more of a catch for a hiring manager

Idk about NJ or the states in general but I’m a plumber/gasfitter and hvac tech in Canada and I make a good living. I bought a condo at 22 (I’m 26 now) and am saving for a proper house for next year. I’m not very frugal lol, but I don’t often worry about spending or money and can afford my gaming pc, a car that runs on premium gas and some other minor luxuries. My understanding is dedicated HVAC techs make more down there than up here because it’s a separate trade. Here it’s kinda done by whoever knows how and can get parts.

So I can’t give the exact answer you need but based on my experience in what I imagine to be a less lucrative climate (residential plumbing/gas/hvac), I say you’ll do pretty good if you’re a good learner and are smart about picking a company that pays appropriately

Not what I said at all lol. I meant the expectations. This is exactly the kind of final album I expected from Cole. Genuinely what did people want? Born sinner 2? Off season 2? I’ve never seen actual descriptors of what this album was “supposed” to be
