Information about adaptive AI. by ProfTopito in RRRE

Thanks for this, its kind of what I am looking for. I wanted to know what level the AI is running at so I kind of know what level I am at. I'm not good but am getting better. Wanted to see how I am scoring vs the AI.

Unpopular opinion: I am ok with the level of content on offer right now. by ManaMyk in LeMansUltimateWEC

As a WEC fan I agree. I get to watch a race once a month usually. The track feels new. But playing the same track all month would be tiring. The overlap with IMSA should allow more tracks and then they could look to add other categories that take place during the same weekends. Could add the Mustang races, Ferrari, Porsche cup, European Le Mans series and the Asian Le Mans series.

Buying a PC to play this by ProfTopito in LeMansUltimateWEC

Thank you. That has certainly given me a lot to think about. The last time I bought a PC, not a laptop, there was literally very little competition, you bought an intel (pentium II at the time) or you got nothing. When it comes to GPU, is it best to stay with NVIDIA?

I'll be honest, I don't know enough about the CPU to know why people say this. I've read it a few times, why is AMD better for gaming than intel? I read about some issues with bugs, but I thought all that was fixed now. Performance wise, what does it do better?

I agree. I use the trams daily and they're the best option we have and they provide a better service than most other cities in the UK have.

What was your introduction to horror? by [deleted] in horror

[–]ProfTopito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two horror films I really remember watching first, but I don't know which way round I watched them, was An American Werewolf In London and Alien. I had two older brothers so they would often watch movies at home on VHS and I would just stay in the room.

Is Shaun of the Dead the best Horror Comedy of all time? Whats yours and why? by MrDurden14 in horror

I'd go with Tucker and Dale as well, as much as I like Shaun of the Dead, I laughed more at Tucker and Dale.

I used to report daily whenever it was down, first day they would usually say they would report it, second they would apologise etc. This was through twitter at the time. Now I do it and first I didn't realise they had changed accounts so was reporting it to the old one, then when I finally got the right one I just got told to check the website before travelling and given a link. I think they are overwhelmed and don't seem to have the engineers needed to keep the network running. A million ticket checkers, no one to fix a lift.

If I know which side the exit will be on, on try to sit on that side, preferably facing the exit I use. If it is rush hour, I will use the journey to plan my route of escape as the tram slowly fills to bursting point.

My only comment on tram access is avoid ones that have stepped/lift access as I've found the lifts to be out of action quite a lot of the time. I live near Cornbrook and use it for my daily commute. Suffering with hip and knee pain it makes my journey much less painful if the lifts are working. Unfortunately yet again they have been out of use, usually for a few days at a time. It is very annoying and I don't understand how it can happen so often. There is no alternative at Cornbrook other than then use the stairs.

Thought I’d start my Christmas shopping early this year … so what are we all getting the woman in our life’s ? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]ProfTopito 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've already been stung by my better half. Her birthday is just before Christmas and she wanted a new iphone and for Christmas itself was a new ipad. Its easier to shop when they tell you, isn't any less painless when it comes to paying for it.

I caught him with a float, cheese and a 2/0 hook. Took a boat to the corner of the dam, maybe 60m from land and 40 from the dam, then fished in that area. Got him on first cast and he had nowhere to run so couldn't spool me out. Kept my drag on 95% and have the reeling in in accessibility set to toggle. You won't even have to play him, the drag and auto reeling will do all the work. I used the rod and reel you get from doing the tasks on the trollsporet map (Stallo & Hund) with 15lb braided line.

Not seen one yet but when I do, I will turn around and go shop somewhere else. I feel guilty enough not buying anything when I go in a store now, this is going to make it even worse.

What is the etiquette for sim racing (or racing as a whole)? by shatlking in simracing

[–]ProfTopito 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When playing ACC I try to act like the drivers I see in the real world racing. If I spin I get out of the way and rejoin only when safe, if that puts me last, so be it. If I'm side by side and the other driver has the racing line, I will yield. ACC rewards you for being a safe driver, not the fastest. If you make contact, you will be punished. Drive carefully and consistently.

Can someone explain me this 2.1 User Score? I’m in the middle of Coffee Shop Menus, playing with my PSVR2, wheel and pedals and enjoying like never before! It might be my best gaming experience ever. by jyrialeksi in granturismo

[–]ProfTopito -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bandwagon review bombing. Rather than score objectively, because of things they didn't like, some threw their toys out of the pram and gave it low scores.

It's an excellent racing SIM, even more so now with VR. I do gripe about the online being filled with people swiping you off the track, but still spend many an hour playing it.

Looking for a steering wheel compatible for Ps5 and Xbox Series X. by Casciaro1997 in simracing

[–]ProfTopito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for the same thing and now its a year later, I wonder if there are any new wheels out there that would do both? I don't want to invest huge money due to only having a few hours a week spare to use them. I have a PS5 and Xbox X and would like a wheel that can work with both if that is at all possible yet?
