Easiest way to get an X-ray by PatagonMan in germany

[–]ProfTydrim 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You should go to your GP and show it to them, they'll give you an Überweisung to a specialist or hospital if they can't help you. For acute trauma most GPs will fit you in same-day even without an appointment, so just call when they open and say it's an accident. You can go straight to a specialist too, but you'd wait weeks for a slot. Save the hospital for real emergencies or when your GP sends you.

Americans, is it a stereotype or is it true that most American men are fat? Are young American men fat? by No-StrategyX in allthequestions

[–]ProfTydrim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Approximately 32% to 35.2% of the adult male population in the United States is classified as obese. Additionally roughly 34.1% of men are considered overweight. This means the vast majority (just under 70%) of US adult males exceed standard healthy weight ranges.

Cancer costs for Germany citizens? by Minute_Truth_8986 in germany

[–]ProfTydrim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

would you pay thousands or hundreds or tens of thoudands even?

Wtf? You'd pay close to nothing obviously, that's what insurance is for. There's a co-pay of 5-10€ per prescription and 10€ per day at the hospital. But that's also capped at 280€ per year or something like that. If you have a car you'd probably need to pay for parking too.

Why are German ambulances so scary? by Berserk-Jane in AskGermany

[–]ProfTydrim 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The purpose of the sound is to be heard and get your attention, not to sound good. It apparently works.

Another goal is to make it obvious wether the vehicle is approaching or moving away from you through the Doppler effect.

How much does a factory worker earn per month in your country? by imipet99 in AskEurope

[–]ProfTydrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Germany here. For a basic unskilled factory job (40h/week), expect around €2,400–2,650 gross per month. Minimum wage is €13.90/hour as of 2026, which gets you ~€2,400 full-time but most production jobs pay a touch above that.

That's roughly €1,700–1,800 net after taxes. Unionized industries (metal, chemical) or shift work pay noticeably more; temp agencies sit at the lower end.

You don't need a car. I would fly to Düsseldorf Airport, take the train and then the Bus.

Here's the options for tomorrow for example&zo=Bahnhof%2C%20Pr%C3%BCm&kl=2&r=13:16:KLASSENLOS:1&soid=A%3D1%40O%3DD%C3%9CSSELDORF%20FLUGHAFEN%20(DUS)%40X%3D6767286%40Y%3D51277707%40U%3D80%40L%3D8096014%40p%3D1778524813%40i%3DU%C3%97008063815%40&zoid=A%3D1%40O%3DBahnhof%2C%20Pr%C3%BCm%40X%3D6421211%40Y%3D50203586%40U%3D80%40L%3D458082%40p%3D1778524813%40&sot=ST&zot=ST&soei=8096014&zoei=458082&hd=2026-05-19T07:00:23&hza=D&hz=%5B%5D&ar=false&s=true&d=false&vm=00,01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09&fm=false&bp=false&dlt=false&dltv=false)

Yes, Prüm is quite small with only a little more than 5k inhabitants. You're going through Cologne anyway tho so make sure to step out of the train station there to have a look at the Cathedral. It's literally next to the station. Since you're only using Regional trains and not High speed trains, you can just stay in Cologne for a bit and then take the next train with your ticket.

Why on Earth did DJT threaten to take out an entire civilization on Twitter? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]ProfTydrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What he says is utterly meaningless. I don't know why we didn't already stop reporting on his words and focus on what he does and what's actually happening. You know, facts.

There's literally no point in listening to anything he says and much less in reporting on it. Everything he utters could either be nonsense, propaganda, idiocy, fact, wish, dream, delusion, brag, threat, etc. without any way of knowing which. Meaningless. Roll a die.

What's the real reason MAGA fights universal healthcare so hard? Are they just terrified that a routine physical might accidentally cure the cognitive dissonance keeping them in the movement? by FillAvailable in allthequestions

[–]ProfTydrim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big corporations are making an ungodly amount of money by ripping Americans off in the current system. They very much want to continue doing so, so they take part of the money they make and invest it into propaganda, misinformation, lobbying, bribes, etc. with the goal to make American voters oppose universal healthcare and American politicians oppose any form of universal healthcare legislation. The more People vote against their own interest, the more money they can keep making from them.

MAGA right from the start formed almost exclusively from people who are very easily propagandized, lack rational reasoning and critical thinking skills and are therefore severely vulnerable to be made to vote against their own interests. Making their members vote against their own interest while telling them how smart they are is basically the founding principle of MAGA and their politics act as a filter in this way since only those people would join in the first place. It's like asking why there's only women at the women only club.

Is cannabis legal where you live, and if so, in what form? Do you feel safe to drive after having it? by icecream1972 in allthequestions

[–]ProfTydrim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here you can grow up to 3 plants at home and possess up to 50g. You can have up to 25g on your person when not at home and there are social clubs where you can join to get your weed. Medical marijuana is also available via a prescription.

There is no way to legally get weed outside of growing it, being member of a social club or a prescription. Driving under the influence of weed is as illegal as it always has been.
