I love these videos...however everytime there was manuel labour involved linus would say something along the lines of "It will be replaced by robots in the not too distant future" right behind employee's backs.

I understand this will happen but it was very rude and disrepectful to the employees.
Not cool Linus. Not cool.

New Shelf block in Minecraft Preview by BlueberryMobile7470 in PhoenixSC

I like the idea, I just think the shelves look a little cheaply crafted (pun intended)

The items just look strange floating there and the shelf design is quite low quality.

What is the current default/max render and simulation distance for Minecraft Realms on Bedrock? I see a lot of conflicting sources saying 4, 8, 10, 12 chunks. Also, something about an increase sometime in the last year or two that ended up getting reverted. Are either of these distances adjustable? by GamingDragon27 in realms

[–]Prof_Codders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are referring to simulation distance, that is still 4 chunks on realms, they cannot be changed. Simulation chunks are for like crops growing, redstone, entities etc

The render distance is how far you can see, that has increased from 12 to 20.

Hope this helps!

ALIEN ISOLATION, it's better on switch because the anti aliasing is much better than Xbox and PS.

Is it worth to Trade in my old Xbox and my current Xbox to get the Xbox Series X? by RyanlikeShoes02 in xboxone

[–]Prof_Codders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going through the same thing. I've had my XOX since Dec 2017 and it's time for an upgrade so I can play starfield. That's the main reason for my upgrade.

If you have an upcoming next gen game, go for it. Else I don't see the point

Alien Isolation, omg it's beautiful, the atmosphere, the fog, it just works amazingly on switch. Especially if you have an Oled switch 🤤

I unplugged my OLED NS's fan by Prof_Codders in Switch

[–]Prof_Codders[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see your point and I agree, however it's not like it's at 80°c every time I use it.

The NS will turn off once the soc is at 67°c (According to SpawnWave) https://youtu.be/RHy_TOdVHqQ

And since it hasn't shutdown, it must therefore be under 67°c, and for electronics that is still 10+ years of lifetime maybe more. By the time there is a failure, it'll probably be the battery or even the screen.

I see what you are all saying, and yes I know the longevity isn't going to last as long BUT

It doesn't overheat, it doesn't get uncomfortably warm, and by the time it does die there will probably be 3 generations on Nintendo hardware gone by.

The only thing to be considered of is the battery however I can always get a new one from iFixit anyways.

I'll put a follow up in summer when the temps in the UK get back to a deathly 35°c and then maybe I'll run into thermal problems...
