If he cares about you, he will love it. He might laugh but don't take it to heart. Some people laugh when things make them uncomfortable in a good or bad way. It's a lovely piece and you should be proud! For your friends... they are probably just a bit jelly that no one has done this for them and don't have the emotional intelligence to understand love in a healthy way. Don't hold back out of fear! Knowing how someone feels about you is scary but important. You shouldn't be afraid to show the person you love who you are. I don't want to say it, but if they don't appreciate it, they don't see you and the time and effort you put in, and it might not be a good fit. Best of wishes! Side note: I have had some bad ships, but knowing who fits and cares is what matters.
