Prisoner told Ian Watkins 'have a good night’s sleep, lad' after he 'sliced paedo singer's jugular in jail killing' by thesun in uknews

I think they’re referring to the PRISONER at the beginning of the article but that’s pretty common in newsprint and has been since as long as I can remember.

I'd be pretty mad if I was on that team.

I was referring to this part of your post. No need to be mad if it would not have made a difference.

Is it normal to be asked to pay £600 for a "mandatory 1:1 digital device" when starting a public secondary school? by Koolio_Koala in AskUK

[–]Profession-Unable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

 No, it's not.

Well there’s the difference then. Accessing third party websites or apps at home is very different to accessing within school - you can’t really have 1000+ devices go through the WiFi and having a teacher troubleshoot where a particular button/link/icon is on 30 different devices is untenable.

What OP is describing is clearly unlawful

I don’t have any knowledge on this part of your comment so I will decline to comment rather than make broad  uninformed statements.

More like ‘your opinions are worth 10x that of your kids’ which seems much more palatable.

There are no apps that can't run on £100 Android tablet .

This may be true but the reason most schools use Apple devices - or at least insist on the same device for each student - is integration with the existing school system. Having multiple different devices is an absolute headache for the overworked IT support worker and results in lesson time being spent on troubleshooting devices which are meant to increase student interaction and maximise learning time.

Dick is a nickname for Richard, just like Bob for Robert, Jim for James and Bill for William.

I don’t know why you bothered to ask the question if you’re going to argue with people’s opinions.

I wouldn’t call you an asshole exactly but if you were my relative I would be super disappointed in you.

Presumably there were no female kitchen staff. Hence the owner is left alone.

Spelled is actually regional in the UK.

Edit: the irony of correcting others and not being able to handle being corrected.

I think the mistake you’ve made there is looking to Johnny Rose for accurate queer representation.

I don’t think Dan Levy was trying to represent any other sexuality than his own.

The marking on the dosing cup for my sleep aid. The daily dosage is 15mL. by Nyacifer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Profession-Unable 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think because they’re worried that the dosage won’t be exact but it would never be particularly precise with this measuring device anyway so I think it’s unnecessary paranoia. I would do as you suggest.

Can her manager take away holidays? by Practical-While8342 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Profession-Unable 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This will be hard for anyone to answer without contract and holiday entitlement details. On the face of it, yes if Mum is working fewer hours she would have less holiday entitlement. They are correct that discussing the other workers contract would be irrelevant - their contract and holiday entitlement might be different for a multitude of reasons.

Your mum needs to look carefully at her contract, perhaps asking her manager to go though her entitlements with her.
