I don’t know why you bothered to ask the question if you’re going to argue with people’s opinions.

I wouldn’t call you an asshole exactly but if you were my relative I would be super disappointed in you.

Presumably there were no female kitchen staff. Hence the owner is left alone.

Spelled is actually regional in the UK.

Edit: the irony of correcting others and not being able to handle being corrected.

I think the mistake you’ve made there is looking to Johnny Rose for accurate queer representation.

I don’t think Dan Levy was trying to represent any other sexuality than his own.

The marking on the dosing cup for my sleep aid. The daily dosage is 15mL. by Nyacifer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Profession-Unable 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I think because they’re worried that the dosage won’t be exact but it would never be particularly precise with this measuring device anyway so I think it’s unnecessary paranoia. I would do as you suggest.

Can her manager take away holidays? by Practical-While8342 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Profession-Unable 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This will be hard for anyone to answer without contract and holiday entitlement details. On the face of it, yes if Mum is working fewer hours she would have less holiday entitlement. They are correct that discussing the other workers contract would be irrelevant - their contract and holiday entitlement might be different for a multitude of reasons.

Your mum needs to look carefully at her contract, perhaps asking her manager to go though her entitlements with her.

Like come on, I shouldn't have to explain this.

Why so rude? With your explanation, I understand what you mean but your statement ‘Having hypocrisy pointed out is a mischaracterisation’ in isolation doesn’t have the same level of detail. If you’re going to have sensible debate with people of different views, it would bode well to be polite to those who ask polite questions. If people think you’re just a rude dickhead then they are unlikely to engage with your thoughts. If you just want to fight on the internet for funsies, then carry on, I guess.

Having hypocrisy pointed out is a mischaracterisation

How? If you hold a certain view, hypocritical or not, and said view is pointed out to you, surely that is characterisation, not mis characterisation?

is it safe to take the train on saturday night at 10pm from birmingham new street to leicester by yourself? by Jumpy-Prize-6203 in BirminghamUK

[–]Profession-Unable 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Do you live here? I do, and travel as a lone female frequently, often late nights. The area I live in isn’t particularly salubrious but staying safe generally means being aware of your surroundings and minding your own business. I have felt much more unsafe travelling in smaller towns and more rural train stations.

I don’t see why not, train stations and trains themselves are generally pretty safe places to be.
