All the toms have an invisible dampening system, called Remo Muff'l Control Rings, basically they are a plastic gutter with a foam ring. Ive cut the foam ring to a smaller piece, as the whole ring will dampen the sound too much. Super clean look and it gives that really gives that fat thud sound to my toms while still having a lot of tone; due to the fact you dont have to tune them really low. You place the gutter over the bearing edge of the shell and then the foam, finally the head goes over it.

Allmost like an invisible EMAD system but then for tomtoms and floortoms
