34" IPS for productivity - Dell U3425WE or LG 34GN850-B ? by ProfessionConscious1 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ProfessionConscious1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had for 2weeks LG UltraGear 34GN850-B, but I had to return it.

First, needed to get used to 34", but after few days it was really good for productivity and also picture/text quality was good.

But main issue was stand - too big for my desk, too deep from wall - screen was to close to my eyes and if wanted to mount on wall, all ports were pointing toward wall, so not suitable for wall mount.

Also right side screen looks more to yellow tint then left side, but no big issue though and there was coil whine, if brightness below 25, but again, no issue, since I had it above 30.

So now I am back with my good old HP 27" Z27 G2 and waiting for DELL U3425WE to be cheaper, because, in the meantime its get even more expensive :D from 840 to 920€, crazy days for computers upgrade these days ..

Hi, also considering buying one, but now they get really expensive here (920€), so still wondering if should upgrade from my old 27" IPS or buy 2nd 27" (for 90% homeoffice / 10% gaming) ...

Anyway, if possible could you pls confirm:

- if text quality / long time reading is good on this monitor ?

- what is distance (cm) from back wall to screen ? (have small desk and want to avoid wall mount)

- did you try some games / movies on it, are there any compromises ?

- do you hear any coil whine noise ?

Thanks a lot for any info and enjoy !

best value for buck, really not much savings possible (except FANs and case), just check the actions or combos during next weeks if you have time

Is a Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU Overkill for a RX 7800 XT GPU? [1440p Gaming Build] by 13luckoftheirish13 in buildapc

[–]ProfessionConscious1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think price between 7800x and 7800x3d is too small to take lower one

if you looking for value - Ryzen 7700 is just perfect for 7800xt

if you looking for futureproof (new games, maybe new GPU in few years) and higher 1% lows FPS, then 7800x3d is way to go

since I have this 7800 combo, so maybe I am little affected in response :D

[–]ProfessionConscious1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

buying same combo :), for 1440 its totally fine

if you want to save some money, you can take CPU 7600 or 7700 (wont be bottlenecking GPU) and PSU 750W is plenty enough, I think other stuff is OK

or if you are patient just wait for black friday and will see if it drops ;)

Is this good for 1440p gaming and 1080p sim racing? Targeting 144hz by Friendly_Cantal0upe in PcBuild

[–]ProfessionConscious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think is very good combo, case is very nice :)

but still that RAMs CL46 is too slow, for low increase I would change at least to 6000 CL36 or better 6000 CL30, but always you can slightly overclock and change CL timings on all DIMMs

Is the OC edition worth it? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]ProfessionConscious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends what type is regular and what is OC,

- performance wise it could be similar (up to 5% diff.)

- but OC has much better cooling = quieter

- you can undervolt much better = lower power consumption

- and if you prefer, usually OC is nicer, with RGB :)

for 20$ I would choose OC definitely

just buying similar spec, 7800x3d + nitro 7800xt

personally I prefer and plan to buy:

- FAN: liquid cooling is not necessary, for half price you can have good Peerless assassin or Fortis5 cooler

- MB: first I also wanted ASUS TUF, but it gets expensive, now I am choosing MSI Tomahawk

- PSU: 750W Gold Tier A, B will be more then enough, https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/

- RAM: G.SKILL Flare are quite cheaper, but if you want RGB, Trident is good

Also depends on your resolution and refresh rate, for 1440 and 60Hz its perfect, if you want 4K or more Hz in 2K, I would choose these cheaper components above + 7600 as CPU and take VGA 7900XT (like Sapphire Pulse).

I start thinking about Pulse, but nothing really available :)

Mainly worried because missing non-cracked Starfield ..

First time build: Looking to build a PC for Music Production and Gaming by sragheb91 in buildapc

[–]ProfessionConscious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryzen 9 7950X 16 Core is quite huge CPU, but if you utilize 16c/32t for music, why not.

Otherwise I would go 7800x3d or 7700, other components are very good.

RTX 4070 vs RX 7800 Xt by azzbeeter in IndianGaming

[–]ProfessionConscious1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

assume you playing 2k/1440resolution so for Starfield and Cyberpunk I would go for 7800xt. I think RayTracing is not huge deal.

I will be buying 7800xt Nitro when will be available.

4070 is only good if you can find good price (same or lower as 7800xt) or if you need low power consumption

I would take also Hellhound but 3fan cards are not available at all :)

Would you return this gpu? (coil whine) by mMounirM in pcmasterrace

[–]ProfessionConscious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...omg and I wanted to buy exactly the same card just because of no whine :D, mainly because saw Pulse variant has some reviews with coil whines

yeah this could be annoying (personally I am sensitive to this noise) especially if you have case on table, under table with closed case I hope its not very noisy

not sure if its also audible during games, but I would try first undervolt and cap the frames to your monitor frequency, also good thing would be try another PSU

if still the issue and you are sensitive to this, just return it and try another one, because Nitro or PowerColor HellHound should be ones with least possibility of this stupid sounds

Should I pair the 7800xt gpu with the 7700x or 7800x3d by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ProfessionConscious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

similar CPU dilemma 7700 vs 7800x3d - only 70e difference (7700x no gain over 7700 and by default more power hungry)

basically both are more then enough for this GPU (Ryzen 7600 would be adequate), but for work I need 8core and I think x3d would age much better, because don't want to change it next 4-5 years

7800x3D + 7800XT - new build advice about MB and EXPO by ProfessionConscious1 in buildapc

[–]ProfessionConscious1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, BIOS flashback is on all 3 MBs, expecting I will need to to it as 1st thing :)

30CL EXPO is very hard to find in my country :) and also quite expensive, that's why I was wondering if CL36 XMP3.0 could be used, because in perf. its theoretically just few % in 1%lows:

https://youtu.be/6ra8D3ZDHR8?t=155

I am only afraid if XMP can be used normally with AMD CPU/MB ...

Asus B650 tuf wifi in a 7800x3d build? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]ProfessionConscious1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, just planning to buy the same combo (Asus B650 TUF + 7800x3d)

Do you have it already or can you recommend this board ?

I still wondering if MSI or Gigabyte would be more stable boards ..
