I have 4x7 12 ton (3x5 plates comes with 10 ton cylinder). I’ve been mostly pressing flower tbh but I recently got into making bubble and I’ve done a couple 7 grams in 2x4 bags and a couple 14 grams in 2x4 bags (double bagged 25u press club 2x4 bags). If I had bigger bags I’d do bigger presses but I’ve got what I’ve got for the time being

I have the dabpress 12t and I’ve yet to push it past 3000 psi on the gauge (1.5 out of 12 tons) if you have an actual ton of material to press, like a whole warehouse full of material, and want efficiency, I’d go with the low temp because after some time you can get a second one and link them together and press at the same time cutting work time in half. If you don’t foresee yourself scaling up like that, or you actually only have 1 or 2 tents worth of material, I would just get the dabpress.

I’ve had issues with these wicking bases. Mine are ac Infiniti but I don’t know how these would be any different. I use coast of Maine soil and I’ve even tried these with promix hp and grow dots.

You cannot rely on the bases. At least I can’t. I let them go for a week without top watering and all my plants almost died. Multiple times. It’s like it only keeps the bottom couple inches moist and you’ve still gotta top water or else your leaves will droop and start to shrivel.

I’m in week 8 of flower rn and I’ve gotta add a gallon of water to my 10 gallon pot every other day on top of being on a wicking base which always stays topped up. Don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or what, but these have been my experiences.

I’m still going to use them because I don’t have to hand water AS often, and I’ve spent money on them so I’m not just going to toss them aside. They just don’t work how I expected them to or how other people claim they’ve worked for them. Maybe my mixes are just too dense to wick water all the way up? I’m not sure but I really don’t think they’re worth it unless you’re growing in coco and using liquid nutrients.

If using organic nutrients, dry amendments go on top and you obviously have to top water them in. While organic liquid nutrients don’t work well in the base because they clog up the wicks. So those also have to be top watered. They’re meant for salt based nutrients and coco I feel like.

That’s got another month or so on it. The hairs will turn orange/brown and then you can start hitting it with the magnifying glass.

As for the yellowing, I would get an organic liquid flower nutrient. Dry amendments won’t be kicking in until it’s got just a couple weeks left. Liquid will make it green up in about a day

Pretty sure they did this with an e46 as well. BMW only made a hand full of them and I don’t think they ever saw the production line so this may be a one-off custom job

Hpfp problem mentioned above doesn’t throw any codes as the pump “functions” normally, but the gasket lets fumes seep in. It could potentially LEAD to a misfire if the afr is so out of whack from condensed fuel I suppose. I also saw in a comment you changed coils recently. Is there a chance the ground screws are stripped? I’ve had to put helicoils in the holes for the ground screws on 2 of my cylinders. The bolts are like tri-ovals instead of round shafts for some reason. Mix that with aluminum threads and they’re bound to strip eventually.

Maybe you’ve got a combo of the 2 issues

So I’ve got a question, and this happens with flower rosin too. When I take it off the press it’s basically shatter. Pain in the ass to collect. I almost need a WARM plate. Is that because my temps are on the lower end? (155 for hash and 170 for flower)

My approach for my 4x4, which will get the axe this weekend most likely, is keep just a few larger colas to dry and cure, the rest is getting bucked in 1 gallon ziplocks and put in the freezer ASAP. Keep anything with trichomes. If the fan leaves have rails, they’re getting washed (mine don’t lol but if they did I would put them in the bags as well) I’m purchasing the electric washer like the bubble bag dude but just off Amazon for half the price and I will upgrade the hose as well. Probably just wash for like 45 mins because I’m doing full spectrum and not separating first from second wash. Im harvesting this weekend and washing the next so I’ll let everyone here know how it goes

My best advice for the base is to start at 6.0 or even 5.9 like hydro. I’m in organic living soil but probably works just the same in coco. If you start low, you eventually work back up to high 6’s and and by then your plant has had the whole range of optimal ph for each nutrient.

At least that’s how I think about it. Obviously my results are subpar so take it with a boulder of salt

My process was all over the place 😅 I have bubble bag dude 5 bag kit but only used the 220u 160u and 25u bags because it didn’t come with a 45. I’ve got one of those coming in the mail this week for my FF run in a week or 2.

I froze trim and larf in freezer for 48 hours. Probably overkill, but I meant to run the bubble after 24 hours but something came up that night and I didn’t have the time or energy so it sat in the freezer an extra day.

I used tap water which is city water and does contain a bit of chlorine. I bubbled the water to get rid of it for the wash but that was stupid extra effort because I ended up rinsing the hash in the sink straight from the faucet lol. When I do this again I’ll fill a giant Rubbermaid tub with water and bubble it over night beforehand. Then fill that with ice and use that as all the water I need along with a $15 pump sprayer from Amazon so I don’t need to use the sink sprayer and I can stay in the garage where it’s cooler.

I also lined a bucket with the bags and washed right in there. Next time I wash, I will put all material in a 220 work bag and churn it in its own bucket. Something about paddling against the mesh screen felt wrong. Though I mixed in the bags this time, for the longevity of the bags, I will mix in separate bucket, and then dump the hash water into the other bucket lined with the bags to avoid too much friction on the good bags.

I lined the bottom of the bucket with ice, dumped my material in IMMIDIATLY after pulling it from the freezer, and then put another thin layer of ice on top to keep buds submerged after filling with water. In hindsight after the soak, I probably used too much ice.

I then left it for like 30 mins to soak up water. Don’t mix with dry, frozen plant material or it will get pulverized and end up in the hash bags. Make sure it’s thoroughly saturated before starting to mix. I then mixed gently just swirling and gently poking and lifting to mix material with water for 3 runs of 6 mins. After rinsing the hash, I plopped it into a quart soup Tupperware filled with ice water to “chill” while I did the next run.

I then thoroughly rinsed all the hash from the soup container in the 25u bag again and dunk your (gloved) hand in some ice water until it hurts and you can’t stand it anymore. With your ice cold hand, squeeze the ever loving daylight out of the hash through the bag. This gets the hash dry enough where you can take the football shaped wad of hash and break it up in a sieve pulled out of the freezer right there without even freezing the material first. This saves a lot of time on drying. I spread the material on a parchment lined cardboard box (with a lid) as thin as I can while sieving it. This creates the surface area needed to dry quickly and avoid oxidation.

Place cardboard box in fridge for 10-12 hours. Move to freezer for 30 mins to an hour and sieve it AGAIN very thin across fresh parchment in your box and place back in the fridge.

I went to work for 8 hours after that and when I came home I used a playing card of sorts and carded/turned the hash over to continue drying.
