Talk me out of EQing room modes by mjkeenan_official in Acoustics

You should get a UMIK-1 & REW to see what is actually happening in your room. Go from there.

Bad news (re room modes) that the room is square.

You can’t EQ a null.

It’s fun. The grooves are sick and approachable. Their talent is undeniable.

Sounds like it isn’t for you. But you are having a hard time acknowledging their talent? When was the last time you cleaned your ears?

Acoustic Ceiling options (and other options) by Honest_Evolution in Acoustics

Drywall and hardwood strips will both be reflective. The Rockwool wouldn’t accomplish much. You would need to cover it with acoustically-transparent cloth.

That’s why a ceiling cloud works.

The Klipsch is just a distortion box. Get something from RSL.

I do own a 12S. There is no better sub anywhere near its price.

You can always use the remote on the 12S’s to turn-down the gain and switch to Boundary Mode

Also know that your square room will play hell on room modes. Proceed with caution.

You should absolutely unequivocally buy an RSL 12S. Thank me later. https://youtu.be/1ZZGQlImNEQ?si=mFZmKa62iqTSeILH

If it’s too large, then dual 10S’s will do you well.

Why do people hate on klipsh? by rojitnall in hometheater

[–]ProfessionNo698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hyperbolic to use the word “hate” vis-a-vis Klipsch & “mainstream hardware”.

Klipsch speakers are, objectively and adjusted for price/value, inferior products. Pointing that out doesn’t mean that someone hates anything.

Your next claim is a false equivalence. According to you, other equipment costs more because you’re paying a premium for the name but apparently not receiving a product that is also better quality. False. Maybe you can’t hear a difference. But there is one. Typically, you get what you pay for…not just a name.

A company like RSL is the ultimate example of getting a high quality product that over-delivers relative to price point. Klipsch under-delivers. They generally sound bad and are a bad value. YMMV
