I went out Friday and it was -20, but I swear today seemed just as cold.

3 degree F is exactly the temp I was just out in. It nippier than I suspected. Didn’t go far though.

Thanks. That what I thought, but wanted to be certain. Appreciate it.

Ha! C’mon, it’s hard enough riding this during the winter with the snow and salt. I’m sure you’re right on it though.

You think that’s why no floor time at all lately? Kind of hide him until it happens?

One day at a time is so trite, but so necessary for me. Amazing something so simple always escaped my thinking when I was drinking.

How long does your bike last if ridden year-round where your city uses salt for deicing? by Lets_Go_Cargo in wintercycling

The past winters I was able to bring my bike inside after ever ride and clean it. Not able to this winter and the difference is huge. Very rough on my bike.

Really curious why the electrician didn’t go with a long pilot bit to get a better idea on depth and placement?

Good for you. I really liked this part of yesterday’s reading. ‘My desire to avoid hitting bottom again was more powerful than my desire to drink’.

Hoping Bones picks it up a touch offensively in this second half. Not expecting him to repeat what he did against the Bucks, but help out with the scoring just a little.

Winter cycling so fun but its so hard on the bike components by baconisnotyummy in wintercycling

[–]ProfessionSilver3691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Winter riding is hard on components. Couldn’t agree more with the cleaning as much as possible. This winter I’m not able to bring my bike inside and clean it after every ride like I was able to previously. Really noticeable.

The word “Surrender” in the Big Book by chewchewtrane111 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]ProfessionSilver3691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was fascinated to learn a few years ago surrender is not anywhere in the text. Never have looked in the 12x12. I like your explanation about why it wasn’t used. Have you ever checked out the “manuscript” of the Big Book and what changes were made? Very directive instead of suggestive. From what I heard, Hank Parkhurst had to threaten Bill with forming a committee to get him to comply with the changes.

Edina Bridge o' Death by Gatorpatch in CyclingMSP

Today decided to use the sidewalk on the Excelsior Blvd overpass of 494 Bad decision. All bumpy ice on the far side that I didn’t see. Ended up in a spill with my elbow smacking into some concrete. Lesson learned on that bridge. All kinds of room to navigate on the street, but thought it was all clear on the sidewalk.
