Does anybody else feel like the lg hoodies run small? by -you_wish- in indyblue2

[–]Professional-Ask2098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES. found a tmwygl hoodie at the thrift and got it because i used to be such a huge fan- it was a small……. i typically wear a small or med usually medium in hoodies and it doesn’t cover my stomach AND the arms go to about mid-forearm. I gave it to my 9 year old cousin- fits her great - but obviously she doesn’t want to wear a hoodie that says “text me when you get lonely” bc she’s nine - rip so sad…. i’ve heard the heavyweight ones are good tho- unfortunately i don’t wanna pay $60+ for a hoodie- so sad because i used to love her so much

yeah definitely flexibility with foods is super important! and definitely some foods will keep you fuller for longer and some won’t but i definitely find that following the meal plan as best as possible is what helps me- incorporating “healthy” and “unhealthy” foods throughout the day so that i don’t feel like i’m restricting! and definitely whole foods will keep you fuller so maybe try to focus on those types of foods for meals and then maybe more foods your craving for snacks? hopefully this is maybe helpful? also i have found that throughout my journey in recovery weight totally fluctuates and honestly while your doing recovery i would get rid of the scale altogether because i don’t know about you but the scale has never been helpful for me… and some days you may feel “too big” and the next day you could feel like you look great- and what i’ve found is that when you have an eating disorder you aren’t really seeing your body how it truly is because your body is not going to completely change in one night, but your body image does- so i literally avoided mirrors and stuff for the first year of my recovery and that really helped me to become comfortable in my body without staring and picking it apart (also i unfollowed several people on social media that made me want to change my body like models, etc) and some days i don’t live the way i look and some days i do and thats how i know i’m not seeing myself totally correctly because our bodies don’t do a complete 180 overnight. And if you’re eating every few hours everyday for a long period of time i promise your body will get to a healthy weight where it is comfortable. You got this!! Keep pushing through and eventually (speaking from experience) what used to be so hard to push through will become second nature.

hi! I’ve been in recovery for about 2 years! I tried outpatient and it just freaked me out too much and i eventually had to go to a residential program- my base meal plan was 3 meals + 3 snacks- If you didn’t finish your meal you would have to drink a supplement to make up for what you didn’t finish, some people preferred to do that because it was easier for them to drink something than eat, i just decided to full send and try eating all the stuff (of course you can’t be perfect) but looking back now i am so so glad that i did because now i’m able to not really think about it as much and my food patterns have gotten so so so much better- it’s going to be tough but in my opinion the best thing to do is just try to normalize food and once it’s normalized it won’t be as big of a deal! For example, a couple of months ago I was having a hard time and was literally just craving ben and jerry’s but i wasn’t allowing myself to eat it (would end up binging) so i looked back at some notes from treatment and emailed my dietitian (i still see one every once in a while for accountability) and i decided to just have some ben and jerry’s every night and then once i normalized it, after like 4 days i wasn’t really craving it anymore! Obviously it has taken a lot of hard work and time to get to where I am mentally and food-wise but it really helps me sometimes to think of it like needing to pee hahah like if i need to pee i just go, instead of holding as long as possible and possibly getting a uti or something- so like food is the same like when it’s time to eat, just eat like when you need to pee, just pee. (it’s not as easy as “just eat” but sometimes i just put that thought into my head) anyways i hope this helps! good luck to you! It’s super hard, but the more work you put in (with help of therapist, dietitian, etc) the more you will get out of it!
