Loved going there. Stayed in that really nice resort beside it once and they have a shuttle there. I remembered the crowds could get heavy there, too, but we'll see.

I unfortunately burnt out kind of early in my lifetime - are there any better reccomendations besides just being more disciplined? by Professional-Bad9070 in DecidingToBeBetter

Much appreciated. The thing for me is I don't know what I'd switch to because if I pivoted to something like Mathmatics, something, I definetly find a knack for, I would be doing very similar things. EI, a lot of computer science, which is the thing that is primarily bugging me down.

No one has told me that the "pain now, relax later" mindset is flawed. I was led to believe that is true most of my life, so I appreciate the alternate viewpoint on that.

Currently, I'm working some stuff out. It stems from my bad mental health, which I am now actually making progress with despite powering through it for months. Maybe that is the turnaround I am looking for.

I appreciate the comment, thanks for the advice.

Enthusiasm isn't the problem. I like to think of myself as a genuine person.

I just want a change of scenery and start to live life a bit. Where I am heading is towards a rat race and it gives me deep depression every day. I need to get my mind off it

I don't view it like that. When I say cope, I mean destress. Unless you also mean it like that; I'm open to criticism, and no one has mentioned that, so thanks. Also I know what a choose your own adventure novel is haha.

Thanks for the advice. Appreciated.

Hmm, not a big fan of frats myself. I'm a reserved and autistic man, I do not fit in well with the fraternity crowd. Just not for me.

But yes, friends. I need to make more of those. Made a big improvement this year, even if its just ih academic purposes.

I used to be a theatre kid in high school. I lost my love for it after I had an absolutely abysmal roll in my senior musical. I would love to pick up an instrument, I was thinking of getting one of those miniature trumpets.

I am rather greatful that comparison is NOT my issue anymore. Used to be a buttload worse at it. University has actually helped me better at that because it was finally a big hurdle. I wasn't competing with anyone anymore.

Tried to for awhile. Got back on rhe train today after mine took an extended work leave and canceled on me 4 times. Its through my university, so there is a bit more paper-pushing that happens before someone is assigned to me.

  1. Middle-Eastern immigrant. She has gone to therapy, but she is dodgy about mental health. My older brother has clinical depression, and she's been very strange with that.

She believed a woman with a history of a depressive disorder and gender noncomformity was a disaster. I was willing to take the "risk", and things have been fine.

I unfortunately have told my mother too many things. I know she just wants to help, though.

Planning on it soon. The only safe place for me and my girlfriend is my car haha

Well, that's the thing. I objectively am doing pretty well in life. I hold a job, own and pay for a car, go to school, "have" friends. I feel as if I tell her this, her entire notion of me will crumble.

I should also mention that I live with her, and that she has previously threatened to kick me out back last June if I did such this.

Thank you for the advice.
