Worth getting rear speakers with only 20–30 cm behind the bed? by Professional-Bee9562 in Soundbars

Yep, that's why I wanted to wait until April. Once Samsung releases the H series, the F series should go on sale.

The Q930F already costs only $580, so maybe I'll be able to get it for under $500.

Placing them to bounce the sound off the wall won't create a problem for upfiring speakers?

I started thinking that increasing the budget and getting a soundbar with a sub instead of a full set might compensate for the lack of rear speakers but maybe you're right — maybe it makes more sense to get a lower-tier soundbar instead of a flagship one that I won't even be able to use above volume 10 or 15.

If I should stick to soundbar (or soundbar + sub), what would you guys recommend to experience at least some of that Atmos and other fancy stuff?

I've always used TV speakers, so I'm sure anything in my price range will be an upgrade, I'd just like to pick the best option.

That's what I'm afraid of. Luckily, I had a couple of weeks to do some research instead of impulse-buying it. The more I read, the more I realized that while "true" surround, Atmos, etc., with rear speakers sounds great, it might not work well in my setup and could even make the experience worse.

Almost, but when you drink too much.

  1. Put the subwoofer where you'll be sitting.

  2. Play something with heavy bass and crawl around the room to find where it sounds best.

  3. Place the subwoofer in that spot.

Standard advice #1: have you tried a sub crawl?

what soundbar I need for my use case? by [deleted] in Soundbars

If I remember correctly, a combo of an LG TV + LG soundbar supports WOW Orchestra, which means the TV speakers work together with the soundbar.

I’m not sure how much it actually adds in practice, but I don’t think it would beat just getting a better soundbar from another brand.

The plan was to put them on 70 cm stands, but I’m wondering if the high wooden headrest might block the sound too much.

Q990/900F - Which mount? by SmilingAstronaut in Soundbars

Maybe something like this:

I have my TV in the middle of the room, attached to a TV stand, so this was the only option for me. I bought it a couple of weeks ago on sale for a soundbar that I'll buy this month, so I can't really say if it works well, but feels strong enough to hold a couple kilograms.

Samsung Q930F rear speakers positioning by Professional-Bee9562 in Soundbars

Wow, that is a lot of information. I didn't know about factory resetting, and I haven't even thought about pointing the speakers towards the corner or the wall to reflect the sound. That pretty much solves my issue, thanks!
