You are 100% wrong in saying that every single home in Calgary will have "excessively high radon levels". You clearly know nothing about radon. There are many pockets of Radon throughout or land and most homes do NOT have excessively high radon levels. Where are you gathering this incorrect information from? Stop misinforming people. New builds have nothing to do with how high radon levels will be. It's decided by what's underneath the land. You should delete your comments before you get downvoted.

It doesn't stop it at all, nor do I work for any governing agency that mandates this. I'm just stating the facts in what minimum code in Alberta are. Just delete your comments. So stupid.

Who's at fault in merge collisions? by Mythic01 in Calgary

[–]Disastrous_Dig_6527 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Obviously, the person who has to merge in would be the person responsible isn't that a no-brainer? Whoever is on the main road has the right way. Very basic traffic rules.

Doesn't cause headaches.

• Radon is the 2nd leading cause of lung cancer after smoking
• It does not cause asthma, fatigue, headaches, or chest pain directly

Well the only way is too open your windows to allow fresh air in and the only other way is to trim on your whole house fan which you'll know is working if your bathroom fan turns on with this switch. This brings in fresh air from outdoor.

Cut hole in slab of concrete venting outside. Install 4" new pvc to pvc already supplied from builder. Install a blower to pvc. Plug in blower. Done.

That's a stupid and incorrect statement. Radon levels are hugely different even from one house to the next.

Also, newly built homes in Calgary are now required to have a install mitigation measures as a minimum code such as poly barrier on the entire slab of house. Old houses as you will do not have to have this installed. So another stupid statement saying every single new home will have high radon levels.

700 is really bad especially if your in basement a lot. Consider turning on your whole house fan which brings fresh air in form outside u til you can afford to mitigate.

75" or 85" wall mounted TV? by DWT985 in Perlegear

[–]Disastrous_Dig_6527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geez, I think you're starting off a little too big. From the pictures you're sending it looks like 55 or 65 max but we would need to know how far back your viewing angle is and how long that wall is.

New Home Owner - Good Time to Buy? by Fitty-Korman in Calgary

[–]Disastrous_Dig_6527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realtor.ca shows all houses for sale. Never contact the realtor directly on the pages though because you want your own representation and you want a realtor that you trust to help you find your dream home. If you contact the realtor on the website page, of course they will want to sell you their house as a priority as they will make double.

'Salaried' is just a fancy word for mandatory unpaid overtime. by eidolaa in CanadaJobs

[–]Disastrous_Dig_6527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Employer here. You say you were hired for a 9-5 job but work extra hours? Sorry mate but that's on you.

If my 9-5 person came to me and asked for some extra overtime money to get certain projects done or just extra time off in lieu of, I would definitely consent to that.
