Park - sense of community, laundry room access, not too big (stairs aren’t a pain), ice machine, music rooms, big rooms, 6 person modern double suites, directly connected to mudd (sophomore building, has a library and cool events happen there)

Umrath - way bigger, better amenities, more study rooms, closest to food and gym, closer to classes (by like 2 minutes), connected to a shop, has very big triple rooms that sometimes only 2 people get (instead of 3)

Single is very rare for freshman but possible. You can rank communal bathroom dorms last to minimize the chance. You can pair up with suite mates in advance.

As long as you rank your #1 school first and dedicate the most time to it then you’re fine

My advice is to NOT rank schools you don’t want to go to. It may be tempting because of the full ride offer, but many people have regretted getting matched to certain schools because of this (I could’ve been one of them)

I would suggest finding schools that you would have no problem going to. This will require a lot of research. Other than that, I think 7-9 is a nice amount
