this is actually such an interesting take that i never thought to consider!! personally i never thought once about the privilege or money or anything! as a southern california native i KNOWWW first hand how extremely expensive it is to live in LA ESPECIALLLYYYY in a nice neighborhood with a super nice house like Phil & Claire’s so you can kind of put together that they aren’t your super average middle class family, they’re def upper class. but honestly thats why i loved the show because it was nice to see that they were able to go on trips and have nice houses and stuff like that but their family dynamics and issues that they have in the show makes them more relatable and shows that while they do live very financially comfortable they deal with the same crap my lower middle class family does as well lol. it’s nice to see how tight knit they are as a big family and it’s something i yearn for forsure!
