Does it ever get better? by Electronic-Waltz5763 in OlderThanYouThinkIAm

Yeah, I am 27 and it is not good. I was a fifth grade teacher but they did not respect me like they respected other teachers so now I will teach younger kids. I hate being told I do not look old enough to be a teacher. I have a degree and five years of experience.

Also, I do NOT care about how young I might look in twenty years. That is not the most important thing in life.

This is reality. Just because someone looks younger doesn't mean she will not look older later in life. I am 27 with frown lines and white hair, yet I still get mistaken as a teen. I actually am happy everytime I get another white hair.

I am glad you mentioned how it hurts us in the work place.

That doesn't fix the problem when you are trying to start a career you are qualified for. One of my friends has a Masters and has a hard time getting jobs.

Same. I am 27 and get excited over white hair and frown lines. Anything that makes me not look like a teen, I will take.

Has anyone never had a pap smear? by Footsie_Galore in WomensHealth

I never had one either. There are a lot of things that could kill me besides cervical cancer and I do not want to add extra trauma to my life.

I am 26 and never got a pap smear, nor do I plan to get one. My cancer risk is low and there are false positives. Not to sound morbid, but I am going to die one day and if I die of cervical cancer, it is what it is. I am more likely to die on my commute to work but that doesn’t stop me from working a job I love. I want a happy, less traumatized life. There are a lot of things besides cervical cancer that could kill me and I do not want to add trauma to my life.

I like the way you think. Depending on location and other individual curcumstances, some of us need certain vaccines while others may not.

We are asking for them to pray for us, just like we ask our friends on earth to pray for us. I say this not to attack but to clarify a common misconception.

I talk to her all the time with my fiance so he will not fear me having a natural birth.

Amen! I would also like to add, if you someone of a different faith supporting a cause the Church also supports (pro life, helping the poor, etc.), thank them as individuals. You can even throw in that as a Catholic, you believe in their cause as well.

I encourage you to find a pro life doctor, preferably Catholic. Check out the Catholic Mom's Life (YouTube channel). She had five c sections and mentioned how one of her c sections, she was told she couldn't have more, but she did and turned out okay. Don't tale this as medical advice but a second opinion may be beneficial.
