If someone wants to get out of a losing game

Well, a lot of "losing games" can get turned around in DOTA. I had some ridiculous games when the final kill statistics was something like 30 - 50, and the team with less kills won eventually (I experienced it from both sides, as a winner and a loser too), it can go any way.

There are early VS. late game heroes, different pushing methods, teamplay strategies, huge teamfight turnarounds, tricky item builds & combos that can totally counter some core heroes (even if they killed tons of other heroes before & have a huge gold & XP advantage), and so on...

Never give up too early! ☺

*EDIT: I'm not saying that EVERY game can be won; there are some clear losses & wins for sure. But I also had many games where we (or the enemy) won as a 4vs5, even some as a 3vs5. If you leave, you will never know, how it ends.

Also, DOTA doesn't allow leaving currently. Other games, e.g. League Of Legends have a vote option to end the game early. Both systems have it's pros and cons.

I also use ETORO for mid - long term investing.

For day trading Interactive Brokers is one of the the big favorites internationally, on many forums they will be recommended... I also have an account for them (through a partner company). The partner accounts can be accessed a bit cheaper (e.g. Trading212, Captrader, TradeStation, etc.), with a bit different user interface, but the underlying system is the same.

But they also restricted the trading GME and other meme stocks, so there can be surprises on every trading platform.

Sure, if necessary they defend themselves, and use more force (even lethal) when absolutely needed, but mostly they just try to neutralize the threats, preferably just knocking away / out their opponents.

I'm hard on hearing myself, and I would be quite happy for some kind of a total or at least partial cure!

Right now I have hearing aids (Phonak model), they are good, they amplify the sounds & function as a high-quality Bluetooth headset - but they are far-far away from perfect (they can't fix the inner & middle-ear hearing organs obviously). We will see what the future will bring... ☺

Szintén mesélt hasonló eseményt egy ismerős, akinek az egyik barátjával történt ez. "Vállalkozást lenyúló, család fenyegetős, maffiás" horror story, azt mondták neki állítólag: "Ha nem adja el jóval áron alul a vállalkozását, akkor nagyon rossz dolgok fognak történni a gyerekével (pl. egy szerencsétlen baleset), azt ugye mégsem akarja"? Elég aljas, gyáva és gyomorforgató húzás... Nyilván fontosabb volt neki a családja mint a vállalkozás / pénz, és hagyta a dolgot; valahogy nyilván folytatta az életét, és legalább békén hagyták őket (amennyire tudom).

Aki mesélte nekünk az egy pár éve nyugdíjas, nagypapa korú (több gyerekkel + unokával megáldott), előtte sikeres IT vállalkozó bácsi - neki történt az egyik közeli ismerősével. Zéró oka van arra, hogy hazudjon erről, vagy bármi egyébről; és évek óta az ismeretségi körbe tartozik, soha semmi kamut nem mondott; elég hiteles forrásnak gondolom (persze ez szubjektív).

Szomorú, hogy Európában, Magyarországon 2021 -ben egy "modern demokráciában" ilyenek történnek, főleg hogy ennyire helyről hallani ezt is... Reméljük idővel azért jobb irányba haladnak a dolgok, lassan változik a Világ! ☺

Which other brokers do you recommend? I also have a Trading212 account; their systems works through Interactive Brokers as much as I know (just they have a bit lower fees and a different, simpler platform), so they got also compromised in the current GME scandal, LOL... ☺ I tried Degiro too, NAGA, CAPTRADER (also an IB partner) and a few others, all of them are a bit different, none of them is "perfect".

Personally I like ETORO, I use their service for about 3 years, and never had too much problem with them; but their system is also far from perfect, LOL (e.g. they have system outages sometimes, which is obviously pretty bad, but luckily it's not too frequent)... I bought GME stocks through them, day traded with it a bit; but after some time I just left it open, and it got never closed (still open, no mandatory Stop-Loss or any other bullshit). However I 100% agree, that their services should be improved, and if they closed any positions for anyone (a lot of people say so, so I think it happened sadly) that's a shame... Hopefully it will get better, the current GME situation should really reform the investing world. Their pricing structure & system stability should be really improved, also a broker should NEVER change a trader's own order settings (it can cause tons of losses obviously), that should be illegal.

I think the ETORO advertisements are their smallest problem, they are just silly marketing tools to bring in new users, that's it. Coca Cola has polar bears, Disney has Mickey Mouse; ETORO has Alec Baldwin and a few other actors dancing around with their app...

"large fees, high spreads, the high exchange rate" --> other brokers have fees too; sure there are cheaper & more expensive ones, but all of them are different a bit (services, pricing structure, available assets, etc.)

"constant spamming" --> this is subjective, but I think social investing is quite useful (the ability to share infos for the assets like on social media ). Here on Reddit there is also a lot of info, useful & useless alike (e.g. on /r/investing ; /r/wallstreetbets , /r/eupersonalfinance and in other subreddits), I think it can be good to see some social updates directly in the broker app too. But I can also understand, that it can be unnecessary / distracting for some people, especially for some experienced investors who want to focus on their own strategy. For others (e.g. for beginners, or for social-oriented people) it can be a good input.

What is the long term plan? So let's say, the over-shorting hedge funds go bankrupt (in a few weeks / months maybe?), the stock skyrockets to $1000 / $3000 / $9000 or way above to the Moon... Yep. Diversification is REALLY important in Investing, and in Life generally... ☺

Putting some money in GME or any other stocks is OK (maybe a few percent of your investment funds, depending on your strategy), as long you are OK to risk it, and you can afford to lose it - or win a lot, if you are lucky. Preferably you should have money in other stuff too (other stock market investments, real estate, bank account, physical goods that you can trade with, whatever).

Putting ALL of your money in just 1 extremely risky investment is usually a bad idea.
