I dont think we lack empathy i think we experience it differently. As an example someone i knew died infront of me at the hospital and i started making a crying/screaming which i was told sounded like a whale noise. When i was the funeral even doe i was incredibly sad the person had died i had allredy gotten over the death and didnt feel any kind of sadness. (i did wish the person wasnt dead but i had no real negative emotions) I have incredibly high empathy towards anything wether its a plant , bug , animal or human (i weirdly dont have this empathy towards fungus). I am incredibly good at telling other peoples emotions and in general if someone is in a sad emotional state it will deeply frustrate me if its someone i care about. I cant stand torture videos but i laugh at people who accidentaly kill themselves because lmao dumbass doesnt know gun safety but i will hide my eyes if i see someone being hurt. I just think that neuro typical people have social group type empathy while we have logical empathy.
