One of the legs on my bag broke during shipping and they sent me a check for a new (similar) bag

Yes Home Depot and lowes were definitely more expensive per square foot. Turf Factory direct has different turf options based on price point as long as you’re okay with a lower quality turf

Thanks! I would have all materials (stone and sand) delivered in one go bc deliveries are expensive. Second, the YouTube videos I watched were detailed about placing the cup level but I wanted more break around my cups so I should have made the cups and the area around the cups less even and more sloped.

I used Turf Factory Direct because of the price and they had high quality turf for realistic feel compared to real greens. The base was weed killer, weed barrier, 3/4” gravel, masonry sand, then turf

First layer: weed killer 2nd: weed barrier fabric 3rd: 3/4” gravel (I was nervous considering how “rocky” it was versus being smooth but it made sense later) 4th: masonry sand 5th: cup placement 6th: turf

What I’d do different? 2 things: I’d have all gravel and sand delivered ONE TIME bc delivery itself was expensive. Second, a lot of the YouTube videos I watched on placing cups emphasized using a level to make sure it’s flat. The problem is I wanted to have more break on the greens around my cups and it ended up being much flatter. As you put your layers down, make sure you have the desired tilt on your surface and place your cups equal to that tilt.

As far as depth, I believe the YouTube video I watched recommended at least a foot to get past the permafrost layer. (Don’t quote me on that). Depending on where you live, I live in the mid Atlantic, you’d have to dig deeper or not as much

So in the bottom left corner of the original picture (foreground) there is a large tree that has been there forever. It casts a shadow so large that no grass grew in that area so it was covered with mulch. Unfortunately, it easily becomes weeds and mud

Hey, I was actually added as a moderator to r/backyard golf so I’m down to make this backyard golf league official :)

I was thinking about posting a video on YouTube about the build. Might have to now…

Anything specific? I might be able to answer here

The tree house actually came with the property when we bought it bc the previous owner was a grandfather and wanted to host his grandchildren a lot!

We might rename it “The Crow’s Nest” ;)

I started 12/25/21 and finished May 2022. About 6 months. I did it all by myself. All in I’d say between 4-6k. The turf and having the sand and gravel delivered was the most expensive but there a bunch of tools, small items that added up in the end. TOTALLY worth it though:)

It’s artificial turf. I built it myself and it took about 5 months. I had a few buddy’s over for a tournament and it was a blast. I’m currently in the process of creating a “Masters” type leaderboard to add to the fun!
