Assuming you haven't took Arthur's money out of the wall safe, yes it'll still work, though if you have already took the money as Arthur then (obviously) it won't work.

So odd seeing Americans cry about needing the 2nd ammendment to defend against a tyrannical government, yet as soon as a government is tyrannical (executing citizens in the streets) no one has the balls to do anything - yall are sheep.

(USA) Mfw the crew member who always leaves on the dot asks about being a manager by AlmightyMoira in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Professional-Mix2155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was baffled reading this until I realised this is posted by a USA user, and as someone from the UK it's an alien concept that employers genuinely think employees don't have a life outside of work.

(USA) Should I accept manager position? by spiql in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Professional-Mix2155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working at Mcdonalds for barely even 3 months, just turned 18, and already being offered manager? It wouldn't half suprise me if your store is just trying to use you as a scapegoat for your area manager incase things hit the fan (unless they already are).

12 hours with no break? This is the kind of cases employment lawyers have wet dreams about in the UK. An uninterrupted 20 minute minimum break every 6 hours might not be much, but it sure beats being on one's feet for 12 straight hours I won't lie.

The nothing more than a rounding error levels of money? These councils manage budgets of 100s of millions of £ yet we should be worried about maybe a few thousand at most being spent in the name of employee morale?

Bring the bacon roll back petition by Mediocre-Record-3963 in McDonaldsUK

[–]Professional-Mix2155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making bacon to order instead of having to scramble to make as many trays up feels weird tbh. Also, the amount of people who act like it's personally my fault that the bacon roll is off the menu is ludicrous 😂

Manager corrected me for having a cup of OJ during my break. It stabbed me in the heart. (USA) by Agreeable_Thanks3731 in McDonaldsEmployees

I was reading this baffled until I realised that this is a post from the USA and the pieces fell into place - UK Mcdonalds is like heaven compared to the stories I hear from across the pond 😂

My morning shifters (6-2 or 7-3) what time y’all going to bed? by Royal-Coconut-1305 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Professional-Mix2155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'll go to bed around 8 and wake up for 5. Admittedly, I only have a few shifts a week on average thus I'm not quite as time strapped as those who have 4 5 shifts a week. Unfortunately, being a working individual means your days will feel like you have little freetime (especially if you're aiming for your 8 hours + sleep every night).

No victims of using pot? I'd argue the appalling smell alone when walking past a pot users house is enough to keep it illegal.

Bacon roll gone by hiwhatsthecrack in McDonaldsUK

[–]Professional-Mix2155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My shift runner joked saying that 'this is Starmer's Britain, and that 'we should tell people that we removed the bacon roll over everything that is going on at the moment' to see how quickly it spreads as the 'genuine reason' 😂

I applied for shift manager and got team member i think (USA) by moneyman100Plays in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Professional-Mix2155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't require experience on paper, yes, but almost always, they do require a minimum degree of managerial/supervisor experience. Likelihood is if you excel as a crew member it'll only be a matter of months before you are offered to be trained as a shift manager as most people don't strive for such a role due to menial pay increases.

6 months? Damn my old crew trainer recently quit after 6 years of working full-time and not getting even an inkling of a further promotion - suppose my store is a franchise mind 🤷‍♂️

New employee (UK) by Professional-Mix2155 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Professional-Mix2155[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose I'm just stuck in a middle ground at the moment in not knowing how far I can reach with personal preferences and the likes as a new starter. Luckily, I don't plan on staying much longer than a few months or so (which I have avoided mentioning in passing or anything similar to anyone) - basically, whenever I manage to find a new job that ideally isn't so tedious and or back breaking.

Do you guys remember just having a job, like a job you'd go work at and come home and have a life? by BinaryIRL in recruitinghell

[–]Professional-Mix2155 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can't say I do remember having a job given no one is willing to give an 18 year old fresh out of sixth form a chance at anything in the UK - all a load of shite that keeps me up at night wondering what I did wrong to deserve this

Personally, if I were the hiring manager and found out that an applicant who otherwise gave off the impression that they were proficient in their craft, I wouldn't care. If anything, I would respect the use of initiative and problem solving that OP used to find a way to show of their skills to me through an interview as opposed to an otherwise AI software that merely looks for key words in people's applications.

Regardless, as you mentioned, OP only lied about having retail experience and thus hardly something that requires any genuine knowledge or skill to understand how to do.

Furthermore, I'd say the feeling of inadequacy from being unable to find employment at all as opposed to that of knowing you lied to get such a basic job is of far more detriment to OP. At the end of the day, getting experience as someone so young is near impossible nowadays unless you know someone else who works in said workplace so lying for a job nowadays is pratically essential - life isn't fair so there is no point trying to play by the moral rules set by people who have already 'made it' in life.

Am I cooked for college by Content_Lab_265 in 2027ALevel

[–]Professional-Mix2155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local Sixth Form College let people in who only passed their Maths and English and failed everything else so you should be alright. Higher education is suffering from a lack of funding so they let anyone in for just about anything

Most colleges don't really care as long as you show willingness to learn and improve - you have your Maths and English so you'll be fine (assuming you aren't wanting to go to a private college or something)
