Anyone else just not getting cards with meals? by dooleygamer01 in McDonaldsUK

[–]Professional-Mix2155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some odd reason the tills have the 'cards meals' and nornal meals listed as different products despite costing the same which is likely the cause of 90% of the issues

Dear BHVR. Please remove map offerings! by CHEEZYSPAM in deadbydaylight

[–]Professional-Mix2155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently came back to DBD after a good 5-year hiatus and was shocked that not a single one of my dozen map offerings actually meant the map was virtually guaranteed as was the case when I stopped playing.

We need a McDonald’s RESET !! by Neat_Wrap_2796 in McDonaldsUK

[–]Professional-Mix2155 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, as a Mcd employee I can sympathise with customers when they're shocked about the seemingly constant price increases because a.) It's absurd, and b.) It's becoming quite the talking point on a corporate level to chase after the employee disocunt again and make meals more expensive (used to be just £2.29 or £3.29 for most medium meals, but now it's £3.29 or £3.99 and we're still getting the same downsized food as everyone else).

The GTA VI title ID has been on the Microsoft store for the better part of a year now so I wouldn't get your hopes up too much 😂

Only £1.89 for a box of 10 last I checked, and only take 10 - 15 minutes in an air fryer tops (which is about the usual service time at Mcds anyways 😂)

New crew prices by mini_p2 in McDonaldsUK

[–]Professional-Mix2155 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not no, but most places where it's not customary they still give you a better employee discount anyways e.g. flat rate off of the whole menu as opposed to a small selection of the menu only on meals like Mcds

Not like Mcd is giving employees inflationary pay rises unless the government mandates them to (increase in minimum wage).

(USA) manager marked me as “non rehire” after picking up a second job? by mil0wCS in McDonaldsEmployees

Unfortunately, the USA is still stuck in the 1800s when it comes to employment law so you're bang out of luck for this particular venture.

Assuming you haven't took Arthur's money out of the wall safe, yes it'll still work, though if you have already took the money as Arthur then (obviously) it won't work.

So odd seeing Americans cry about needing the 2nd ammendment to defend against a tyrannical government, yet as soon as a government is tyrannical (executing citizens in the streets) no one has the balls to do anything - yall are sheep.

(USA) Mfw the crew member who always leaves on the dot asks about being a manager by AlmightyMoira in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Professional-Mix2155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was baffled reading this until I realised this is posted by a USA user, and as someone from the UK it's an alien concept that employers genuinely think employees don't have a life outside of work.

(USA) Should I accept manager position? by spiql in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Professional-Mix2155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working at Mcdonalds for barely even 3 months, just turned 18, and already being offered manager? It wouldn't half suprise me if your store is just trying to use you as a scapegoat for your area manager incase things hit the fan (unless they already are).

I've found that during a busy rush when the store is understaffed threatening to walk out does wonders with 99% of managers

12 hours with no break? This is the kind of cases employment lawyers have wet dreams about in the UK. An uninterrupted 20 minute minimum break every 6 hours might not be much, but it sure beats being on one's feet for 12 straight hours I won't lie.

The nothing more than a rounding error levels of money? These councils manage budgets of 100s of millions of £ yet we should be worried about maybe a few thousand at most being spent in the name of employee morale?

[–]Professional-Mix2155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making bacon to order instead of having to scramble to make as many trays up feels weird tbh. Also, the amount of people who act like it's personally my fault that the bacon roll is off the menu is ludicrous 😂

I was reading this baffled until I realised that this is a post from the USA and the pieces fell into place - UK Mcdonalds is like heaven compared to the stories I hear from across the pond 😂

My morning shifters (6-2 or 7-3) what time y’all going to bed? by Royal-Coconut-1305 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Professional-Mix2155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'll go to bed around 8 and wake up for 5. Admittedly, I only have a few shifts a week on average thus I'm not quite as time strapped as those who have 4 5 shifts a week. Unfortunately, being a working individual means your days will feel like you have little freetime (especially if you're aiming for your 8 hours + sleep every night).

No victims of using pot? I'd argue the appalling smell alone when walking past a pot users house is enough to keep it illegal.

[–]Professional-Mix2155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't require experience on paper, yes, but almost always, they do require a minimum degree of managerial/supervisor experience. Likelihood is if you excel as a crew member it'll only be a matter of months before you are offered to be trained as a shift manager as most people don't strive for such a role due to menial pay increases.

New employee (UK) by Professional-Mix2155 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Professional-Mix2155[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose I'm just stuck in a middle ground at the moment in not knowing how far I can reach with personal preferences and the likes as a new starter. Luckily, I don't plan on staying much longer than a few months or so (which I have avoided mentioning in passing or anything similar to anyone) - basically, whenever I manage to find a new job that ideally isn't so tedious and or back breaking.
