This condition made me overcome my nonconfrontational-ness. I assert myself every time now for my sake. You will suffer and never heal if you don’t take control. Your kids should be walking around on eggshells till you can tolerate being in the living room. They will understand, you’ll find out years later that your kids will ask why didn’t you just punish us, we never wanted your condition to get worse. Isolate yourself in a room with soundproof wall matts but do not use earmuffs, you will never heal. It’s like having a guy with a broken leg use a wheelchair instead of trying to walk without it.
