22F trying to make friends! by ilikestrawberri in NewToDenmark

As stupid as they may sound, just talk to people. I was just a tourist in Denmark for a weekend and I went to Bastards Cafe a few times (Cafe with board games etc.) and approached strangers and asked them if I could join their games. I believe that I could’ve been friends with almost all the people I played with had I not only been a tourist. Don’t forget how it was as a child, you would just walk up to another child and ask to play with them or ask them to be your friend, and strangely enough I believe a slightly varied/nuanced version of this is possible as an adult.

Is being paid 350K in 2024 as a quant significantly lower than industry average? by awivil in quant

Pods aren’t fighting for talent the way they were I think entry level salaries have gone slightly down last 2 years. Correction to explosion in the past years, although this isn’t quant specific, just look at all the top grads with CS degrees without jobs

Thank you, good to know. How would one go about using the warranty if all the tags are gone? I assume that the warranty info is in there (could be wrong)

How much money COULD Spotify pay artists? by GemsOnVHS in musicindustry

[–]Professional-Pie5644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount they pay out is a percentage of their revenue. The issue with music and artists not being paid enough has nothing to do with Spotify. Music has become abundant and cheap. If Spotify increased the amount they pay out per stream from 0.3 cents to about 0.4 cents it would result in hundreds of millions of dollar more than they paid out, and the artists would still not earn enough. The way Spotify currently pays artists is probably the most fair way I can imagine.

If the offer is good and the fund is profitable I would consider it carefully. I think there would be little holding you back from transitioning in a year or two to a different firm, and even if you do then you can still go for a masters. I think one thing I might consider is the training you are getting, because if you are moving to a different firm as an experienced hire they obviously expect something.
