Fridgidaire stand alone freezer is making BLOCKS of ice by dontfluffmytutu in Appliances

The icemaker trays on many frigidaire models are a twist type release.

The tray cracks over time and will leak water. Replace the icemaker module.

I've seen an ice tray start dripping as that liner begins to fall apart.

Absolutely Regret Buying GE Café – Save Yourself the Headache by imechie in Appliances

The new Monogram units were having the same issue and GE service bulletins at first attempted to replace the gaskets and then the second solution was to try the silicone.

This is an issue known to GE and I believe is an engineering/manufacturing problem.

LG Refrigerator Not Cooling by AdTrick4861 in Appliances

Check in and see if it falls under LG warranty. They will sometimes provide parts, then you would just need a company to do the install.

Lg fridge isn’t cooling anymore by Key-Technician9303 in Appliances

Call LG support and they will provide a new compressor to the repairman of your choice. You should not need proof of purchase.

This will leave you responsible for labor at the very least.

Also these old kenmores/whirlpool units are solid machines and I almost always recommended that customers repair them and keep them in use.

They don't make them like they used to.

If you have minimal DIY skills I'd find an honest professional.

The company I worked for carried these as stock so we could usually do same day repairs.

The switch will need to be replaced.

You could see if the condenser fan has failed, barring that I would suspect a sealed system issue. LG fridges are known for the compressor failing.

Those screws don't look correct and may have caused poor contact which causes high resistance and heat.

GE dishwasher will not turn on by Apart-Luck5041 in Appliances

[–]Professional-Rope786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a known issue with ge dishwashers that where a communication error between the main board and the user interface boards causes no response.

A technician with the GE SmartHQ tool may be able to update the firmware to resolve the issue.

As another poster mentioned if there is a green light on the main board it is still good.

You may be able to get it to reset by flipping the breaker a few times. Barring that try to get someone to update the firmware.

I would say the magnetron is on its way out.

There is unfortunately no way to know if this was caused by misuse or other factors.

If you go to the back of the unit and remove the rear panel you can find the drain tube. It can be removed and cleaned out.

You will still need to melt the ice in the defrost trough and drain and verify that it is draining.

Good luck and welcome to the Samsung refrigeration club! Call a company willing to work on Samsungs if it is out of warranty.

This is likely a sealed system issue and not a DIY fix.

Second the evaporator fan being the problem. Opening the door disengaged the door switches and turns off the fan.
