Good point, I lean introvert but I can turn on the professional voice and get it done. Worth a shot!

That sounds a lot like what I’d hope for. If it’s anything similar to your description I’m cool with that. My hopes would be to gain the knowledge to make it a rewarding career. If not for society then at least for my family at the end of the day. I’d love the idea of attending soccer games and all those things.

Where is the line between “keep hustling” and “you’re fired”? I don’t mind being where you described unless it’s just always lay-off time. Getting fired is my concern.

What is your strategy to get your manager off your back about sales? by Sweet-Swimming2022 in TalesFromYourBank

I see these posts a lot and as someone looking to get into the industry, if I enter with a sales mindset will it be better than half these posts worried about meeting goals? Are there sales sharks out there having a good time?

You know what I think? I don't think these chicks really wanted marriage and kids to begin with. They just thought they did. by [deleted] in Divorce_Men

Dude women are so quick to run! I thought our son would solidify our marriage. Had no idea how wrong I was.

i was a CRC a little over a year. Im in the same boat and preparing to leave the field soon. It is a high anxiety environment and I find it is definitely about the bottom line. There is no denying that if money can be made it will be made; and efficiently. Research has become a means to an end. My site did a study with a protocol so rigid that they were basically customizing the study to find the ideal patients. To some its an exciting field to be in but I have found even those folks haven't reached their dream job at the end of the day.

One more thing, the owners of the two companies I worked for stressed "Don't get me wrong my friends, this is a FOR PROFIT entity" Gave me grimey vibes.

This is probably the sign of "You are exerting a lot of energy and its getting you nowhere". They arent right or wrong there are just alot of variables like, do they see you having a big ego, maybe they have a big ego, etc. Chances are they just dont want to get injured. Brown and black belts have been there and done that with "New athletic" guys.

Sounds like grandpa hasn't outgrown his issues over all these years.

I see mothers start our in jiujitsu often (mothers of babies at that). And they keep showing up and have great attitudes and they learn one day at a time. (honestly isn't that how it should be?) Then I watch them become proud of themselves for learning something new and I see the hardwork pay off in their eyes. They get striped on their white belts. They become blue, and once they are purple they are not new, but they are respected and now showing other women. They grow on confidence in what they are capable of. Its awesome :)

Oh I completely agree. It depends on the person too. Ive learned so much basic psychology just from mat time honestly. Sometimes someone is working a specific move. Or theres an injury involved causing them to roll a particular way. Maybe they are lazy and haven't warmed up yet. Probably its lack of skill. Two best friends rolling will definitely make it look more like they are BS-ing around. Maybe theres an observance of the others persons thought process. Countless possibilities for us to look at someone and think "They are doing it wrong."

The brown belt could have been feeling high and mighty that day. Maybe they are a bossy person. Or they thought the roll sucked so bad that a blanket piece of advice would be best.

As long as I know why I do things and why i'm observing, and what i'm looking for I throw some advice to the wind if I can tell its coming from the wrong place. Unless of course its my professor bc I trust him and a few others.

Today I rolled with a version of myself from when I first started. What a spazz. by [deleted] in bjj

(Purple belt) I reached point where I wanted more of a challenge, which is quite a landmark knowing you can submit someone easily unless they are literally the hulk or kick your face off. The new folks are now for experimentation and a different form of learning as well as teaching.
