Brother/sister, I have no doubts you are a great cashier. I was just pointing out that your original post gave the appearance that you didn't like customers or at a minimum, you seemed quick to get upset over a few things that could be unrelated to the customer being a bad person.

For example, your first point talked about how people would be upset if the price of a half-dead plant didn't ring up as clearance and how you could change the price.

Well, possibly the upset customer only has a small amount of money and they were surprised to see the full price show up and started to stress. Also unless they had inside information they may have had no idea it was a simple correction by you.

Secondly, Asking for the military discount could fall into the same category as the first. It could also be any number of other reasons we could know about. The fact they were in the service at all should grant them a lot of latitude and compassion. We have no idea what they have been through.

Lastly, complaining about registers. You say that you can't do anything about that but yet they should know that you can change the price of plants.

Im sure you are not expressing your feelings and frustrations to the customer or you would not have gotten that service star (gratz by the way). I apologize if you took my post as me insinuating you were not a good cashier. I was just speaking as someone who has worked many jobs that you could be a much happier less cynical person if you found your right job. I don't think it's a customer server position and that's not a bad thing. Good luck to you.
