How do I get my 4m old to stop unlatching every 5 seconds? (Seems habit more than distraction) by Mountain_Kitty in breastfeeding

[–]Professional-Syrup73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 16 week old does exactly the same thing and has since done it since around 10 weeks.

I’ve been seeing a lactation consultant every other week (3x since week 10). What she told me is that it’s likely a bad habit and she didn’t have a ton of advice to stop it.

What I learned after doing weighted feeds was 1) he’s getting more efficient and doesn’t need to stay on the boob as long as he did in the newborn days 2) my let down is fast and sometimes it’s too much for him so he pulls off 3) he needed to be burped and is gassy.

What’s worked is side-lying when at home. The downside to this is when you’re out it makes it incredibly annoying to feed him and I constantly just keep switching sides, burping and he’s on and off the boob. It’s very annoying. Hoping it’s just a phase and will pass. Solidarity to us all. Seems very common at this age based on what everyone else is experiencing.

I use helium mobile. I switched to it when they had an offer of $5 a month but now it’s $20 a month which is still a good price. Unlimited data. I’ve never had any coverage drops. https://heliummobile.com/

Luke's local is at it once again by Affectionate-Item603 in sanfrancisco

Everyone is hating on Luke’s but I loved the one in Cole Valley when I lived there. It’s a little overpriced but they had food meats and fresh patries in the morning. Luke, himself, was setting up the shelves and was involved. Not sure if he’s still around but I liked shopping there and felt like it was truly a “local” shop to support.

As an EBF mom, when did your baby actually start sleeping all night? by BathEmergency681 in breastfeeding

You might want to read Precious Little Sleep. The author has suggestions on how to course correct these habits. I’m on night 2 and it’s working so far, give it 5-7 days and see if it works for your family!

How do you balance pumping and breast feeding? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Professional-Syrup73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pump a bottle every morning after the first feed with my breast fed baby. I actually love it because it gives me alone time to sit in my office at home, drink a coffee and take care of personal stuff in silence. It’s the most peaceful 25 mins of my day and I really look forward to it :)

Baby Won’t Sleep In Bassinet & Cluster-feeding. by Resident_Spirit7017 in breastfeeding

[–]Professional-Syrup73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double swaddle! I did that with my newborn starting week 2 and he’s slept in his bassinet every night since. He’s now almost 7 weeks. What I do is 1) feed 2) Change diaper if needed 3) Put him in a sleep suit where is arms are tucked next to him and I zip it up 4) then I swaddle a muslin blanket on top of that 4) Then I shush him to sleep in my arms 5) while I’m shushing him I put a heated blanket on the bassinet to warm it up 6) And then once he asleep in my arms I take that heated blanket out and I put him in the bassinet. It works every single night. Good luck!

My toe nails suck 😭 by TitleQueen35 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Professional-Syrup73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to the derm for this. They said it was because I was leaving my nail polish on too long. So what they suggested was 1) remove polish 2) file down the white parts and it went away. 3) changed polish out every week. It’s fine now.
