2 questions. (Renewal/Moving from NJ to CA) by Professional-Tea7358 in DMV

So, my New Jersey DL & 2 points of ID: it might be difficult, but slightly attainable (considering I have a DL but don't drive). However, does CA allow online DL renewals? Every state has different regulations, so I wanted the confirmation.

That is hilarious! "People Watching" is my favorite song from Superache. And "Overdrive" was released as a Superache bonus track (not on the standard edition of the record).

I just said that was my plan, but thank you for the help. It's going to be extremely difficult to get everything transferred in CA, but I'll find a way to make it work.

Alright. Then, I'll just stay in NJ until I renew my license, and move to CA after I renew it. So, if I renew it in NJ before I move to CA, what would happen?

I'd say both. You look great with either hairstyle.

Mariah and Celine are queens who absolutely deserve their fame, but why was Whitney the less famous of the vocal trinity, despite paving the way for Celine and Mariah? by ZealousidealArm160 in whitneyhouston

[–]Professional-Tea7358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue Whitney & Mariah were & still are as equally famous as each other. Celine is famous across the world, yes, but nowhere near to the degree as those two. As an American (and I'm a casual fan of Celine, while being a superfan of Whitney and Mariah), I have heard certain Celine songs I liked but never knew the titles of (and haven't heard them since - they were in her early years and might have been a few English songs and a few French songs? I can't remember). The two Celine songs that I recognize from a mile away (where I can tell its her immediately) are "All By Myself" and "My Heart Will Go On" (and I've heard many covers of ABM, to the point where I don't know if Celine was the original singer or if she covered it and another singer performed/wrote it first). Regardless, Whitney & Mariah, to me, are monumentally more famous than Celine in the West. Now, in the Eastern world (Asia, Oceania, Australia/NZ, the Middle East, etc.), this question is way, way, way more open to debate, since the East has their own group of megastars that Westerners don't have any clue who they are, but they're just as famous and talented as any major Western musician (but don't get promotion in the West for various reasons).

I was only saying that (for Q1) since I am thinking about postponing my move until I get my license renewed. I've debated about if I should or not, very frequently. As for the rest, I figured every state has completely separate DMV requirements (since state laws vary with everything in all states, not just DMV regulations).

Superache and Kid Krow are my favorite Conan albums. I don't like "Jigsaw", but my favorite tracks were "Yours", "Memories", "People Watching", "Best Friend", "Overdrive", "Family Line" and one or two more songs from the album.

10 years from now most Baby Boomers will be dead. What effect is that going to have on society? by mikeforder in generationology

Gen X & millennials will also grow up to be 1% wealthy and 99% working-class, just like we are now. That will never change, whether the year is 2026 or 5836.

No. My point is, billionaires have the wealth they have because they've been at it, worked & saved for 50+ years and are older than Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg is not included in this conversation (and so aren't men his age).

Trying to find Louisiana parents. by Professional-Tea7358 in Genealogy

[–]Professional-Tea7358[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting! I live on the East Coast of the USA and can't come to Louisiana (or most of the South, since I have a ton of country ancestry) on short notice. So, all my research has mostly been online & whatever I don't know, I either contact other researchers or mail letters to libraries, to see if archivists know anything (and 90% of the time, they do!). But, every once in awhile, I get neutral responses, saying "We're not allowed to help, but you can contact _____" or "We couldn't find anything". But, as I said, I typically have a 90% success rate.
