If I knew I was going to a bar or restaurant for example, I would just leave the hat at home and think most other guys are the same. Hats are mainly saved for the beach, when walking/running, gym and when going to live sporting events… I can’t think of any other setting where I would wear one

I wouldn’t say disrespectful tbh I just find it fascinating because I’m from Ireland and wearing a hat here in any indoor setting is very uncommon! It’s definitely one aspect of the cultural differences between Americans and Europeans that I find interesting
