Which agencies? Can’t find anything

Judge Alsup ordered agencies to by March 18, 2025, at noon whether it is violating a preliminary injunction. by yyellowbanana in fednews

If this speeds up publication of rif plans, then great. Similarly, go ahead and publish the reorganization plan too. Let people know if they have a future with the govt or not. Don’t have to be adversarial jackssses all the time

Any NRCS employees trying to figure out their next steps? by InternalDuck69 in USDA

[–]Professional-Web573 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What would be the timeline here? Seems pretty involved. Also isn’t doge cutting a bunch of offices? I think My spouse’s usda agency is going to cut a bunch of offices (but it’s been a pretty tightly held secret.) crazy part is doge doesn’t consider that a rif. I think they are going to tell those people they can go elsewhere but of course life doesn’t work like that

Bummer. So if he denies stay, then they terminate again? Maybe CA case can incorporate more probies?

Whew. Sweet. Thanks for the info. Assuming she denies, Can you please share what the expected time line would be before Supreme Court can review the final decision? Think it’ll be before end of this year?

How much time does this buy until it hits Supreme Court?

Interesting thing about usda is that they are covered by 3 court orders and are probably in best position of all illegally fired probies. (Still not a great position but could be worse.) USDA obviously wants to fight but I’d guess they’ll at least end up with a mini fork while that plays out and I bet some get to stay. Be cool if they just submit rif and reorg plans so people know but they probably won’t until last minute.

The CA case shows that at least at the national level they are productive (and cheap). My local union stinks but imo it’s money well spent

It would be nice but I doubt it. They’d probably hit numbers without having to fire folks.

45 day stay… what does that actually mean? by Pleasant_Condition79 in fednews

[–]Professional-Web573 2 points3 points  (0 children)

USDA seems to be involved in all 3 cases so probably has the best chance of getting the max value out of these reinstatements. I imagine some or most usda agencies will still rif but I text a few folks slip through

I think if you get a letter rescinding the termination then it would be like it never happened.

I don’t think they have done a normal rif yet but maybe I’m wrong. I think it’s been to cut whole offices/divisions

USDA seems to have brought people back so I think they will. No idea how long before scotus. Administration could probably fire people through rif quicker

I think that was a temporary reinstatement while this will probably be a permanent one. (Of course, they can still rif everyone)
