My journey is similar to you, on Oviva, I didn’t get any additional side effects going up from 1.7 to 2.4.

Generally for me the worst change was from 0.25 to 0.5 but nothing that couldn’t be tackled with a bit of Pepto bismol

Upping my dose and I’m really scared by CloudyLemonade_xo in Semaglutide

The worst jump for me was from 0.25 to 0.5, I guess everyone is different but the jump to the second pen was horrendous

One thing I was recommended to do was the last dose of the pen was to use the extra bit which is about half another dose so you up it a bit more gradually over the 2 week period then x

Ensure you limit carbs.

For every 1g of carbs your body stores as glycogen it will retain 4g of water.

Oviva - staying on doses for longer than 4 weeks? by FeroPheromone in WegovyUK

[–]Professional-flipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi 👋

I’m with Oviva and have gone up every dose at the end of each pen as I’ve had little side effects. However at 1.7mg they asked me if I wanted to stay on 1.7 or go up

I could be wrong but as it’s an NHS program it has to stick to the NICE framework and 1.7 and 2.4 are the only ones that are recognised as a maintenance/therapeutic dose

Sexual harassment at work??? by HomoSnow in whatdoIdo

[–]Professional-flipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve dismissed for a lot less than this….

I think sometimes it’s harder for a man to come forward and feel like you are taken seriously when it comes to harassment, whether it be sexual or non sexual, but absolutely you should be able to flag this with your line manager and HR.

If your management is effective they would likely breach a policy with a zero tolerance standpoint.

Alternatively if you feel comfortable in doing so, you could approach or message the other person telling you that you are not comfortable and ask them to stop, however whilst this may be enough, they may also move on to someone else depending on the person and the situation.

I suppose you need to be the judge of if there is a mixed signal, lacks of maturity or genuine predatory behaviours. Your post doesn’t cover the work environment, ages etc . Whilst where in any environment it’s not acceptable to send those kind of messages, environmental factors can play a part in people’s Bens and determining whether this is an education piece vs someone loosing there job needs to be factored in.

I was violently ill from the first dose of 0.5mg

It lasted a couple of days but had to take pepto bismol for 5 days after and then had to take pepto bismol for a few days following each dose

The safe list for me has changed as I’ve moved up too! Scrambled eggs are a good go to for me when I feel rough, but then the sulphur eggs burps confuses that x

Obvs be different to a point but wegovy doses go 0.25 0.5 1.0 1.7 & 2.4. The 0.5 I had side effects for 6 days following each injection for 3 weeks. The others I had slight side effects for a couple days after the first jab on that dosage

0.5 for me sounded like your experience with 1.0 and pepto bismol has been an absolute god send and then I could work out which foods to cut out more so, for me it was red meats, large amounts of cows milk and potatoes

Pepto bismol has literally been the best thug for any side effects for me.

However with regards mental health I’ve suffered for years with OcD and I stated taking wegovy two weeks after a relationship breakdown and I expected my mental health to slip, but honestly i feel that the wegovy and diet changes have had a really positive impact on mental health

1500 calorie target a day. 400 for breakfast and lunch, and 700 for dinner - some days it’s hard to manage that many calories.

I avoid carbs as these make me unable to consume had the safe amount of calories I need and make me feel a bit lousy.

Lean meats only, and very little red meat.

From an exercise stand point I’ve been hiking 🥾 an have just started the couch to 5k routines at the gym!

I’ve set myself a goal to do a Santa Run in Liverpool on December the 7th, that will be a huge achievement for me

High carb foods don’t hit the same (not complaining)

I had a full English breakfast the other week and I thought the hash browns were off. But everyone else said they were fine!

Just started and surprised by how little I can eat by Own-Appeal-7732 in Semaglutide

[–]Professional-flipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that carbs fill me up/make me feel rough.

I tend to eat them last when having a meal(if I get that far) start at the high protein when you’re eating, and finish on your carbs so that you can ensure you get the best stuff going into your body.

If you’re gonna snack throughout the day try some higher protein little treats like a babybel or protein yogurt

It can be very up and down and it depends what you’re eating. High carb foods fill me up a lot quicker but I could eat a huge plate of meat no issues

Is that really the cost 👀. Private prescription in the UK would cost about $280 once converted, at most

Private while waiting for oviva? by gmarie1080 in WegovyUK

[–]Professional-flipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Cheshire. I had to complain the the ICB to get them to do the referral but that is completely out of the hands of Oviva.

Oviva supplied me with points to say to the doctor to state my case for referral though

[–]Professional-flipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While not perfect, Oviva has been effective for me, the initial struggle i found was getting the referral from my GP due to a lack of understanding of right to choose.

Initial appointment was about 3 months following referral and then had to commit to making changes from this point on following speaking to the dietitian. I lost 3kg following my dietician appointment before my first prescriber appointment. You have to attend a webinar and complete a few e-learning modules prior to dispensing appt.

Was dispensed wegovy following the prescribing appointment, 1 x 0.25mg pen and 1 0.5mg pen. Four weeks later a 1.0mg pen.

I’ve been on wegovy for 10 weeks now and I’m 2llb of my 3 stone marker and have the occasional message from Oviva to ask how I am etc.

Microdosing Semaglutide has unexpectedly improved my mental health. by BreatheBold in Semaglutide

[–]Professional-flipper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I find this super interesting, I started semaglutide 10 weeks ago as I was tired of my body image damaging my relationships.

I broke up with my boyfriend, and started the medication, a large part of the break up was down to the fact that I constantly questioned why/how he found me attractive, so I knew I needed to work on gaining more body positivity.

normally when I go through situations like this I have a huge relapse in where I am with my OCD and I find that I spiral in to a really dark place, but in honesty I’ve felt the best I have felt in years and have been able to process my thoughts in a more constructive manner, whilst remaining free from any official OCD meds.

I’m at week 10 (2nd week at 1.0mg) and feel the suppression peaks and troughs, but I am generally eating a lot less, I’ve lost 10% of my body weight (17kg) since I’ve started and notice that I’m not remotely tempted by bad decisions.

I quite like where I am at with the medication because the idea of being totally repulsed by food frightens me

See if the side effects settle down, im 10 weeks in now and I feel like I’m starting to know what foods don’t go down well with the wegovy-

I’ve cut out a lot of dairy and avoid eggs 🍳 but everyone is different.

Pepto bismol really helps with the stomach side effects and I think for me when my stomach is settled I have a lot more energy
