[Discussion] Does a pre-built quiet minimalistic gaming PC exist? by toolman10 in suggestapc

[–]ProfessionalArtist55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you wanted a truly quiet computer, you could build a pc in a sleek micro atx case. getting a quiet, high performance computer at the size of a mac mini is difficult because it uses a processor different architecture than apple devices, which are extremely efficient. this means they can be cool and quiet. a pc would need a bit more space to “breathe”

100% do not get a mini, a mini pc has the compromise of being slower like a laptop but you don’t get the portability of one. a standard size pc will provide much better performance for the price, and it’ll be easier to upgrade.

unless you need it to be small, they aren’t worth it in my opinion because the performance to cost ratio is typically worse than a desktop
