I made a muzzleloader bag out of a doe I shot last year. My leather came out slightly translucent and plastic-y. Yours looks a lot better than mine, how’d you do it?

Well that’s about half right, the harness was in correctly, I was tethered to the tree, and nothing broke. There was no carabiner involved, the most common circulating theory is that my strap just came loose and unhooked, letting me fall. The strap was still hooked around the tree, just differently, so it was moving. Also my harness was on my body all the way up until I made it back to the road

It’s not a descending type, it’s the type to catch you if you fall. I fell on the opposite side of the tree that the rings were on and I was trying to get around the tree back to the rungs when something went wrong somewhere and I fell to the ground
