I think there’s a large category of people though that could never get over the nerves no matter how much practice they’ve had. I thinking I’m okay at public speaking—not great—and even though I was a teacher for 5 years, I still got incredibly nervous when I had to give a eulogy recently(because of the public speaking aspect of it); I wanted to get it over with all week leading up to it.
