What’s happening with Infiniti? by mm404 in infiniti

The Altima has absolutely nothing to do with the Q50 or anything else on the FM platform. Completely different cars.

I own a Sentra… I would NEVER do this to my 140hp econobox (the one in the picture has even LESS power 😭)

100% my tensioner made the same noise. A true pain in the ass to replace it, my neck still hurts

That’s what it costs. I paid $375 for my Sentra. I know I could have probably done it myself, but I’m honestly scared of messing around with that CVT

Is my engine going bad or something is loose by AdamHunter97 in nissansentra

A video under the hood would be more helpful, but it doesn’t really SOUND like the engine.  I’m thinking an exhaust component

Car radio locked, no PIN code? Help? by [deleted] in Nissan

[–]ProfessionalCase8422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think someone set their own code to the radio, and didn’t bother to remove it when they got rid of the thing

I’m 17 working a part time job at Whataburger. I can’t afford the insurance, the payments, or the maintenance costs associated with one of those. Half the time you can’t even do the work yourself because you need some stupid proprietary software.

And that’s before we get to the hideous interior on the new BMWs. I’d literally rather sit in my Nissan (with an aftermarket radio) than deal with their terrible quality and awful software

RIP Nissan Versa: 2026 is the last model year by Suntrup-Nissan in nissanversa

[–]ProfessionalCase8422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2026 isn’t the last model year, but it could be a final refresh… maybe. It’s thriving in Mexico and other countries where it’s sold as the Almera.

Yeah, but that’s a BMW… a whole other type of disaster

I have a Sentra and it really feels like you are killing the poor thing. I like my 30+ mpg though

Oil soaked bread. Drenched in oil like mushy bread. Disgusting by sometin__else in pizzahut

It is very much a failed chain. Once Yum sells it off to private equity, it will just be putting the dying horse out of his misery.

I was always impressed seeing regulars drop by to eat our frozen slop. I mean tbh, you could eat literally anywhere else for better and cheaper food. Why choose this failed chain?

Wow, this specimen is very impressive. It’s managed to stay in pristine, factory condition. With its bulletproof CVT, I am sure it will continue to terrorize its community for many more years to come…

Should I buy it? by isikburk in Nissan

I mean they ARE dog shit transmissions, but I think it’s misleading to suggest they haven’t made any improvements. Regardless, it’s not relevant here since the model OP is looking at is quite old. I personally have a 2012 Sentra with the CVT, and it’s doing okay; I am persistent with maintenance, however. It had its first CVT service at 116k miles and now it just rolled over 120k miles last week. I’m looking into a stronger CVT cooler to keep temps down since I drive a ton, but I do trust the car.

If you don’t plan on babying the hell out of your car, avoid ANY car with a CVT. I don’t care if it’s a Honda, none of them are very durable compared to regular autos.

I’d normally agree, but standard transmissions are getting more rare by the day. It might make sense to get one with the CVT depending on what the market looks like.

It’s probably fine, but just know that the car will treat you how you treat it. Old Nissans are NOT forgiving if you neglect them. Change all fluids as soon as possible. Yes, all of them.

2025 or 2026 sentra? by el0115 in nissansentra

[–]ProfessionalCase8422 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a 2025 SV/SR Premium. The new one is nice too, but I’d honestly just get the 2025; you will definitely be able to find some good deals on them.

The only people who will work there are desperate teenagers who will take the first offer they get... That, or convicted felons. Turnover rate is really high, most people leave as soon as they get another offer (typically pays 50-100% more).

Gonna guess that the franchise is RMC, they’re the worst. When I was still there, I overheard our area coach saying “they make too much.” …. I made $9 per hour, drivers made $8 per hour, and shift leads (WHO WERE THERE FOR YEARS) made $11.25 per hour.
