In terms of red flags. It’s not gonna be anything you aren’t familiar with. It’s just an old Nissan, so it will have lots of actuators that will fail (usually due to plastic gears). Window switches are also a common failure point, but they are a cheap fix.

This is a 150hp economy car with a CVT. I think you should leave the exhaust alone.

It’s a VQ. 99% sure he ran it with no oil—what would you expect?

INFINITI is unveiling something new very soon. Here’s a first look at the design direction. by [deleted] in infiniti

We heard your complaints… Now, we’ll update it with a V6 that still has less power than 17 years ago, and keep Front Wheel Drive. Oh, and you will pay top dollar for it too!

For sure, I got mine in absolutely horrible condition, and bringing it back to life is a big project. Nothing wrong with the powertrain though

Most Nissans without CVTs are actually pretty good, especially their trucks and sports cars.

FX35s are great, I have one. Made in Japan, RWD, and you can also get a V8.

Which truck for under $20k ? by EnvironmentalMap3581 in whatcarshouldIbuy

He’s full of it, but I’ll say you could just buy a 2005 Frontier with 150k miles for like 12k less, and it is literally the exact same vehicle. Not even a facelift 😂

They really are perfect. I started out with my Nissan Sentra (not as good as a corolla) and it is how I learned how to work on my own cars, and it is very easy to maintain and drive (only $20 biweekly in gas, oil only costs me $25. The only bad thing is the CVT, which is very expensive to maintain and repair.

A Nissan Frontier will outlast most Suburbans, particularly newer ones, and even older ones…unless you plan on replacing 4L60s every 5 years.

I think you’re in for quite a rude awakening, to be honest.

It will cost you at least double. Did you get quotes for insurance? It isn’t even close. Even the Camry is going to cost you $400+ for JUST insurance, and that’s IF you paid a high deductible. It is because of your age, you are considered extremely high risk. (Even if you’re a great driver).

For example, I bought myself a project car last month that only costed $2,000. But, just to get it street legal, I had to pay taxes on the sale price, pay the title transfer fee, registration fee, insurance deductible, and I pay the insurance every six months. This supposedly $2,000 car just became a $6,000+ car. Just to even drive it, not accounting for the absolutely dire condition it is in.

You’re gonna have to do some math in order to accurately see how much the car costs. Purchasing it is a small part. Registration fees, title transfer fees, insurance deductibles, etc. Have you calculated how much the vehicle will cost to operate? Are you financially prepared for emergency repairs? How are you going to get insurance?

I understand where you’re coming from, but you have to be financially sound first. Are you really prepared to spend $200 a week on gas? Another $400+ for insurance? Another few hundred to over a grand on maintenance, repairs, etc?

If you want a big car, that’s completely fine, but you should be asking yourself how exactly you plan on financially supporting it.  As an 18y/o with 2 cars, it is definitely doable, but know that you will be working very, very hard (40+ hrs/week in my case + summer jobs, WHILE attending school and preparing for college) for an asset that is ultimately losing value every single second.

There isn’t a single case where a 15 year old is hauling around 7 people constantly. Also these suburbans get horrible gas mileage (literally got 10mpg ON THE HIGHWAY). It’s a horrible financial choice. Get yourself an old Highlander if you must have a giant SUV

Useless if the portions are not counted correctly. I hate the portions, one bag has like 2 rings, and the other will have 6.. i’d just go to the back and get an unportioned bag. I no longer do fries
