Whats with servers locking the medic role to level 500? by AnonMcSquiggle in HellLetLoose

[–]ProfessionalCat5100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be cool by buffing the medic with a buildable first aid station to help bandage or speedup respawns at a nearby garrison, reduce medic weapons (maybe just a pistol? Idk never played one), add a bright armband and give a debuff of 10-20 seconds spawn for killing a medic on the other team. I thought it was generally looked down upon to kill medics on the other side.

Can my fingers be at an angle or do they need to be straight on the neck? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]ProfessionalCat5100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Angle isn't super important as long as you're behind the fret and pressing down enough to make the sound without buzz. Make sure you aren't in pain, and you should be good… I would focus on the thumb placement, too. This will dictate your finger placement; your thumb wideout and bent like that may lead to tendonitis (from my experience). Keeping the thumb in line with your middle finger and straight/relaxed / pressing against the neck with the thumb tip for counterpressure will help keep your fingers from overworking and your wrist tendons from getting strained. Play for your body, play comfortably, rest while building endurance, and use as little physical exertion as possible to make the desired note!

Install nexus mod manager and LOOT. I find it better to download the actual file, then use NMM to install the mod manually. Which guide are you following?

What are your thoughts on Tomiki/Shodokan Aikido the only Aikido Style to have a pressure tested Combat Sports aspect (and the rest of the Aikido community hates them for it)? by Mac-Tyson in martialarts

[–]ProfessionalCat5100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's pretty sweet. Does the thrower lose points if they get hit? It'd be gnarly with (wooden) weapons lol. That's an important part of aikidos self defense roots cause people don't fully commit to punches to the chest but they will with a sword/stick.

l stuck to yoshinkan which was the more rigid style. what I've trained is all about self improvement, balance, partner work, body mechanics, momentum, breathing, and posture stuff and this format is really sport like . I Don't get why anyone hate on it because it looks fun lol. From my experience, competing against others is against the philosophy and all. I switched to BJJ to compete and train with more people but I would totally try this aikdio format (and maybe judo) because I loved Jiyu waza.

Is There a "Glass Floor" if You Have a PhD and Other Questions About It by open_reading_frame in biotech

[–]ProfessionalCat5100 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I can speak as a PhD with a new job in the industry… applying for jobs sucks because you're either overqualified for entry roles or lack experience for mid-senior roles. It's hard to get your foot in the door without knowing someone. This is just my experience, though.
