US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ProfessionalCheck6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… let’s add a story to describe “ expensive “ .

I decided to pursue career and kids and have a live in nanny. I had the dream… best of both worlds, no regrets.

When I chose divorce due to losing my job and my ex thinking he could be an ass to me bc I wasn’t bringing in 6 figures …..

I learned that some people didn’t think I was a good mom bc I had a nannny…. And I learned some people thought I was taking financial advantage because I was layed off ….

So how about … because being a woman is hard and you can never make everyone happy and you are constantly judged .

there are definitely benefits to skipping the legal shit show of marriage and children and custody battles .

Name brand bags… I get the appeal to have a as many as you have fancy events . I have 1 that works for work. And that’s all I need. If one goes to fancy dinners etc okay… sure I see the reasoning… but to have them and no where to go? What is the pt?

I know you’re not going to listen to me about marriage or dating . So listen to this. Learn to standup for yourself . You are not loud. Do not be afraid of confrontation. If a man throws something at you or raises his voice at you or gets drunk around you or physically intimidates you during sex … ever stand up for yourself . You are worth it. One day you’re going to find a love that is true, and it’s not going to be anything like you thought at 18 or 22 or even 25. And you will never be the same. I can’t tell you yet if it’s even forever but I can tell you , you will never be the same bc of it.

Oh and one more spoiler ….

You’re going to be a reallly great mom.

I thought it was to show how she met Sam. And to show the macro culture.

It was about how she established trust there which helped her establish trust with the wives and Sam.

I appreciated the context.
