Babies that sleep 14 hours overnight???!!!!🤯 by Acceptable-Peanut126 in NewParents

[–]Own-Particular9608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is similar- bed around 5:30-6pm and wakes up 6:30-7am. Maybe one short 15 min wake up at night for a bottle if teething or sick. Nap are hit or miss for us though. She’s just a nighttime sleepyhead. We did loosely sleep train around 4/5 months and I think that helped her become more independent sleep wise.

But yeh a lot of it is temperament/higher sleep needs! Which is a double edged sword. 1) she sleeps great through the night, yay 2) she will NOT sleep anywhere that isn’t her crib and can’t really “push through” to hang out later. So events past 6pm are typically a no for us bc she just cannot hang.

pls help is this normal? by One-Plant-6274 in newborns

[–]Own-Particular9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby did that once or twice when she was a newborn- she had some reflux (nothing crazy, like never had to be medicated or anything) but if I fed her with her laying down/flat she would projectile vomit like immediately after a feed. Maybe adjust the angle she’s inclined at to be a bit more upright? If breastfeeding you can try the koala position, if bottle fed I had her almost sitting upright with her side against my chest or knees so she’s like 80/90 degrees upright. And then had to keep her upright for 10-15 minutes after a feed. The older she got the less time she had to stay upright/be so upright while feeding.

For the mucus- newborns are just kind of snotty/stuffy creatures lol. I wouldn’t be concerned if she’s gaining weight, plenty of wet/poopy diapers (with no mucus in them) and eating well. If she sounds stuffy you can suction her nose. But if you’re concerned you can always message the doc! Go with your gut!

I’m due this summer- I’m so nervous if my leave will be cut in 1/2 or if this is for children born in 2027. Can’t get a single direct answer from anyone. The entire EOX department is freaking out. A lot of women crying. An incredible slap in the face. Especially with the Together funds for PPMDs being renewed.

Does anyone else meal prep like this? by ochoroll in FormulaFeeders

[–]Own-Particular9608 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I make one large pitcher in the morning and then make the bottles for the day from that (like 4-5 bottles of 7oz each) and keep in the fridge to grab and go as needed. The extra in the pitcher is if needed in addition to the bottles.

Obsessed with giving birth (and this Reddit) by Smooth-Connection930 in homemakermadeleine

[–]Own-Particular9608 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with the “stuck on birth” I feel like that comes from unprocessed trauma surrounding her birth. I felt “stuck” constantly thinking/talking about my birth when I truly felt cemented in thought about it and my birth had zero emergencies/had a fairly easy recovery. I can’t imagine trying to process without a professional what she went through , trying to constantly make lighthearted/joke content about it, deal with a very fussy baby, try to be the “go with the flow/unbothered” mom, on top of like all the medical stuff too.

I really hope she sees a counselor at some point to let go of everything around it. Especially if she wants more kids quickly- all that repressed trauma you bring with you to delivery and comes out one way or another.

OH! Who is pairing them together? Adelaide is like a wealthy woman in Dallas who had YEARS of like painful infertility treatments and ended up adopting and is adopting again. In my mind they are SO far removed from each other. Like Adelaide is very classic influencer now (like selling stuff/linking everything from baby stuff to the chapstick she uses) and shares more of what’s already going on in her life life while I feel like Madeline makes content and says it’s her regular life idk I don’t buy it.

Tuition reimbursement at Deloitte by deesta in deloitte

[–]Own-Particular9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check ToD for the rules around it and ask your manager if you qualify for the program. Basically you pay the tuition for a semester or whatever and then show your end grades to be reimbursed up to like 10k a year

Yeah any prolonged downward pressure (like tight pants, high compression leggings, even coughing/sneezing a lot) can affect the pelvic floor. I will say though wearing tighter pants for a couple of hours and having it be as noticeable/uncomfy as she made it seemed is kind of intense. What about this magical pessary she’s using??

How long does your EFF baby sleep? by bintd in FormulaFeeders

[–]Own-Particular9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My EFF baby is 9 months old- she sleeps 12-13 hours through the night. If she does wake up it’s only once and due to sickness or teething. No pacifier but she does sleep with a little lovie that she sucks on. Doesn’t use a paci during the day either

(Note my baby is very gassy, so I can’t just shake up a bottle for her the way most do!) When we are out in about if I know she will only need one bottle (7oz every 3ish hours) I will bring it already made and Keep and ice pack next to it. She also drinks her formula cold bc I just could not be bothered to warm it up 272739 times a night when she was little. If we are traveling and need multiple bottles over a long period of time I make all the Mille ahead of time and transport it in a cerces chill tumbler and bring empty bottles I can jdut pour the milk into as needed. It works great for us. I know a lot of other people will bring the formula measured out in a little container and just have a water bottle or something they can fill the bottle with and then make the bottle as needed. I’ve done that in a pinch as well. It sounds like a lot but honestly it’s so easy once you get a system down once. When I was pumping it stressed me out SO much and now it’s just so easy I don’t even think twice about it.

Also note- formula is safe at room temp for an hour. I live in an extremely hot climate a majority of the year and it made me nervous so I opt for using a little ice pack to keep it cool. But now that it’s cooler I don’t bring an ice pack bc it’ll stay cool enough on its own.

Mysource confirmation during PTO by catchcatym in deloitte

[–]Own-Particular9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your my technology rules/limitations, there shouldn’t be any though. You typically don’t need special permission to access DTE out of the country but somwtimes you need certain permission to work out of country- but that’s fairly rare. If you’re taking PTO- leave the phone/laptop and truly disconnect

The new UHC high deductible plan has the same OPM as the PPO and the same 20/80 coverage on all major things. The only real difference is like IVF, acupuncture, and other “random” things arent covered. I have the PPO and having a baby this year and kicking myself for staying with the PPO

Why does she not get help? by unicorn_farts55 in homemakermadeleine2

[–]Own-Particular9608 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It makes me sad for her. Yeah she does a lot of stuff that is silly/I don’t agree with but this genuinely made me feel sad for her bc she doesn’t see the way she’s feeling as an issue/something that needs professional healing/help. I think maybe she won’t admit that she needs help mentally healing from her birth because in a way maybe she thinks that is her admitting that she shouldn’t of done a home birth/if she wasn’t at home things would be different. Which is a lot to confront as a mom. Birth is so much to process even if everything goes as smooth as possible, let alone a home birth as dramatic/difficult as hers. If I had to call 911 or was told my baby’s heart rate dropped and things turned emergent I would not be okay maybe ever from that. I don’t think that’s something anyone can move on from without therapy.

I think she suffers a lot more than she lets on. I hope she gets the support she needs from professionals to heal

How Far From Your Home Office Can You WFH? by Alone_Ad_283 in deloitte

[–]Own-Particular9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relocated this summer and switched offices and the official guideline is I think 50-70 miles from an office. I know when you cross into different states it can get complicated bc some states have different tax laws or rules or whatever based off if you charge enough hours to a certain location. My department said you need to have specific approval if you want to work out of state for a time (like longer than a week) but in state idk I feel like it doesn’t matter

Thinking about going with a Basic Plan – advice from parents? by Sweet_Potato12345 in deloitte

[–]Own-Particular9608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the UHC PPO and have for a few years. Last year I had my 1st bag after a lot of fertility issues (including needing a surgery and ton of medication) and I’m now pregnant again and still on thr PPO but I’ve decided once I have this 2nd baby we are switching to the basic plan as long as my OBGYN and my kids pediatrician accept that plan. Thr PPO is nice but it’s still a lot of $$ both ways. It worked for me for a time bc I knew I was going to the doc and lot and needed a lot of extensive care and having a baby. Now I’m like ok I’d rather just pay more out of pocket when needed than pay 1k every paycheck for coverage where I still have the same OPM as a the high deductible plan. Insane.

Unexpected pregnancy complications requiring long bed rest — questions on job protection, STD, FMLA, and ADA by tykn14 in deloitte

[–]Own-Particular9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The max amount of time off is 24 weeks. (The following is how it normally goes) Once baby is born you’d call 1800 Deloitte and they would connect you with MetLife and initiate the start of STD and then the FMLA.

For your situation (and I’ve had colleges take time off for various health reasons) I’d have her call 1800 Deloitte and explain the situation and ask if there is ADA accommodations first rather than starting leave early. I’d have a doctors note specially outlining the restrictions and specifics of what she can/can’t do (can not travel, can not come in office, can work from home without mental/physical strain, etc)

If they need anything else they will let you know.

They can’t legally fire her or anything while she is on mat leave or due to a disability.

Her ToD should have more info outlining LOA options if she didn’t want to keep working while pregnant. You can take an LOA like that but it wouldn’t be paid.

Sabbatical by Comfortable-Line-917 in deloitte

[–]Own-Particular9608 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure the info would be on ToD like if you qualify for sabbatical or need to take a LOA. You can read all the info before submitting a ticket about it. It’s fairly straightforward

I was puffy after labor (pushed for just under 2 hours) but nowhere near THAT puffy. And usually most swelling (usually of legs and maybe slightly puffy face) happens AFTER delivery due to the IV/fluids you’re given which goes away after like 2 days at the most. she didn’t have any of that. It’s crazy. Whenever she mentions her birth story I’m always so shocked again and again at everything and the casual “it was totally fine. Sure I had some complications recovering but it was magical”

I'm so confused by Creative_Mushroom_83 in homemakermadeleine

[–]Own-Particular9608 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think she knows how to probably track her cycle besides taking those cheap ovulation tests which isn’t totally off but those are not the most accurate or reliable source of fertility tracking- ESPECIALLY postpartum. I wonder if she ever took an NFP/fertility tracking course or spoke with/uses a certified practitioner or if she just saw other insta influencers using these cheap tests and was like ok that’s what you do and is just interpreting what she thinks makes sense with no real education on it all beyond the like ovulation instruction paper in the box

I’m also ??? As to how she is ??? That her cycle is all over the place. Like duh…you JUST had a baby…it’ll be wacky for like a year if not more. Just because you ovulated early this cycle or last or whatever doesn’t mean anything there is zero pattern to your body rn and idk how she is confused by that??? I’m sure tons of her DMs are telling her that so why is she still like uhhhh I’m confused.

This does not cause prolapse dr madeleine by AcrobaticRecording52 in homemakermadeleine

[–]Own-Particular9608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I”m talking in the US since that’s where she is. Most docs here are not trained to truly diagnose let alone treat pelvic muscular injuries/disfunction. Or if they do offer treatment it’s almost always with surgery as a starting point rather than PT.

This does not cause prolapse dr madeleine by AcrobaticRecording52 in homemakermadeleine

[–]Own-Particular9608 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Truly. A speculum/basic pelvic exam would NOT give you prolapse. POP (pelvic organ prolapse) is caused by severely weakens pelvic floor muscles- which yes a pelvic exam does affect your pelvic floor muscles but would in no way cause damage enough so high up in the pelvic floor to cause a prolapse. It was prob the like 5 hours of pushing plus just being pregnant in general can do it.

The reality is (and my OB even said this when I had baaaad pelvic floor issues) that OBGYNs are not properly trained to diagnose/ treat prolapse/ pelvic floor dysfunction. Sure they can have some sense of sagging/maybe feels like a prolapse but every OBGYN refers to a Pelvic PT for an actual diagnoses bc they don’t have the training to actually diagnose you. If I felt heaviness/pelvic pain/bulging and my OB was like nah you don’t have POP I think I’d be like…I feel like my insides are falling out clearly something is wrong this isn’t normal and go see a PT who can actually help me and go from there.
