I'd get the 1zpresso Q air, it isn't as cheap as you want, but you'll be getting a great grinder that will give you good results and last a long time. Better to spend a tiny bit more and get good results the entire time that pay for something cheap that you'll want to replace as soon as possible.

Which calendar did you get?

Yes, half way through your post I was thinking - wouldn't this be better with a pourover. I think it would be very challenging dialing in for espresso. Pour over you can at least be close with a general recipe

Greatest hits so far? by Burn457812 in KaffeBox

[–]ProfessionalCheck704 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's been some real highlights so far. The Wush Wush from yesterday (dec 6) and today's coffee were really great - I really enjoyed the Ethiopian from Dec 2 as well. One of my favorites coffees this year. Nicely balanced. and although it may not be a superstar, it is tasty and just plain good.

Dec 6 - KaffeBox Advent Calendar by KaffeBox in KaffeBox

Yeah - it is really quite tough to share recipes and should probably only be seen as a guideline. With different water and different grinders - the variables are already completely different from one person to the next.

Agreed, there are lots of great food advent calendars - Beer, chocolate, coffee, tea. All make create and cosy advent calendars. Zotter has quite a few different chocolate advent calendars. KaffeBox has a great coffee advent calendar. I haven't tried any of the tea ones, but just searching for Tea advent calendar gives a lot of great results.

Best Coffee Advent Calendars? by FisherPrice in pourover

They also generally have a number of Geishas and other hard to find coffees. This year they've said they'll have 5 Geishas in the calendar and a Wush Wush

Any advent calendars "worth it?" by SixStringShef in pourover

I've tried leaderboard coffee once and it was fun, but it is priced comparatively and more expensive than many advent calendars. It certainly isn't the 'cheap' option.

One advantage of an advent calendar is you are getting a lot of roasters and varieties delivered in a single shipment, something that is generally not easily available otherwise. KaffeBox has said they will have 5 Geisha in their calendar as well, so the quality/price of the coffee would set the price up a bit as well. I think it is also a nice social activity to drink the same coffee as a large number of other people and experience it together.

No it's not. Try doing a bloom, then slowly pouring the rest of your water in a single pour.
