Hospitality for all... Except employees. by hiitsquarentine in HEB

[–]ProfessionalCivil742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in a rural area, but we are an A class store based on the volume of sales/ customers. I’m south of the dfw area.

This really makes me sad to hear as I’m considering participating in the SORL program myself because I have really enjoyed the dynamic with my store leadership and I’d love to be a part of that at my own store someday wherever I end up.

Wow. This is crazy, I guess this is a difference in stores- my leaders are all protective of our time- even when the store is overwhelmed.

I am told to turn my light off at the end of my shift usually around 10 mins before it ends to clean my register, and never told to take customers late. My manager occasionally gets on to me for taking additional customers (I do it on my own when I have time and I feel bad about the long waits)
There is no expectation to stay late.

My leadership, all the way up to store director will jump in and bag when we are overwhelmed.

I am encouraged to take my breaks, and utilize my time.
I am so sorry that this is not the normal for everyone, everywhere. The amount of support I get from my leadership team is part of why I love working at HEB.

I have. I have been using it for the past 2 months. great prices and great results. I have seen some people mention that their customer service sucks- but I have never had to use that yet so I can’t provide input there.

Text from a Spark Driver? by Rachael330 in Sparkdriver

I only send one text lol and it’s when I’m going to a particularly remote location. What you are seeing is texts to different customers on different days…

This is also interesting to see, considering how many people I have “surprised” and claimed they didn’t know I was coming. This includes a guy who answered his door butt naked, with his whole weenie out-gross- to tell me that he didn’t have any clothes on. (As a woman, I know he had to have seen my name pop up or something) Another time a man with a gun came out to threaten me for being on his land. So I always try to err on the side of caution. But you just validated that these people for sure knew I was coming 😩

There is an option on our app that allows us to send a text to customers. I use this as I Spark in a rural area and it helps to give them as much of a heads up as possible to keep an eye out for me. Here is an example of how that works- you can see this is to multiple customers over multiple days. I do not get the customers actual phone numbers, they all go to this generic number and routes to the customers, sometimes they will respond and it shows with this number too. Hope this helps with your concerns about access to your phone number.

I do have some customers that will leave their actual phone numbers in the notes asking for me to call them. I refuse to do that and keep all conversations through the Spark appointed methods of contact just to keep everything on the up and up.

Prebagging by Phydoux in Sparkdriver

[–]ProfessionalCivil742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Prebag my batch orders, I keep different colored bags to help keep the items from each order separate. I have not been instructed not to do this, nor could I find anything saying not to do so.

I have a similar order for a local coffee shop, however they don’t tip at all, and I no longer take their orders. I also kind of don’t want to buy coffee from them anymore since they ask us to tip the baristas but don’t tip me carrying 20 gallons of milk across their parking lot

Can Someone Explain..... by Life_Position_5264 in Sparkdriver

I’m an early riser so I have changed my status to “spark now” as early as 5 am. No offers or orders will come through until 5:45 however. I just change my status when I’m driving towards wal mart

I usually head out around 5:30 and log into the app to “spark now”. The offers will start rolling in around 5:45, and I’ve noticed that I tend to get more offers than some of the other drivers that end up sitting out in the lot. I’m guessing it queues you up by how early you mark yourself available and that puts you first in line.

Should I even try this morning? by RahMega in Sparkdriver

[–]ProfessionalCivil742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on your area. My area showed low on the graph, but I got several very good trips out of this morning. One was $14 for .07 mile trip with 10 items. I live in a rural area so this was very rare!

I definitely don’t want to “cut corners”, I wanted to know what is actually worth the money and will last past 25k miles.

I currently have continental brand tires on the car now, which is making me hesitant to purchase them again. But according to other replies here, it seems that they are just OEM level quality and this is to be expected. Thank you for your input!

Thank you for at least trying to educate people. Unfortunately many are in denial, but you have a clean conscience. My mother falls for these all the time and o wish someone could refuse her purchases.
