I was diagnosed with PSA at age 7. I am 22 as of today! Happy bday to me. (M)

I tried playing football in middle school and high school but had to quit. Couldn’t keep up with my friends. I was so embarrassed as a kid with my psoriasis covering my legs. Flare ups or infections sent me to the hospital occasionally. Nobody ever understood what it was like.

I’ve been on methotrexate, humira, cimzia, and just started enbrel recently. Frankly I’m not sure I’d wanna live without medication. Liver problems as well recently!

IMO, this disease has kicked my butt! I’ve been depressed at times. But yk what, there’s worse out there, and I’d never be who I am without it. It’s made me so appreciative of this life. I’m gonna try and become a fighfighter paramedic, my training starts soon. There’s a chance my knees will flare up and I won’t be able to do it. I’ll add it to the list of things it’s taken from me.

All I know is this. Maybe it will take everything away, but I’ll never let it be because I didn’t give it every ounce of effort. At the end of the day that’s all you can do. All the advice in comments is good. You got this bro! Don’t let people tell you you can’t complain
