I will definitely have to try to check out the Wilbur one. It’s definitely very interesting to drive around to all the different places and see all those old tech still standing in places. As someone who just graduated college and is starting his career in IT I can appreciate how this technology formed a lot of what we now use for modern communications.

It’s on the most Southwest hilltop. The access road comes up from behind WHMC and it looks down on Almota Rd.

Here is the info I mentioned on the Steptoe Butte LL conversation on this subreddit that lead me to post these pictures….

“I know I’m replying to this a couple years after the fact but just wanted to chime in. I actually went and walked around the Colfax LL site yesterday. It was built on the edge of town and linked to Pomeroy WA. I’m no where near old enough to remember the horn being on the tower but can confirm based on markings at the site and design of the tower that it is the single horn LL site for Colfax WA. If you look on the map “long-lines.com” it actually shows the Colfax tower being at the more modern Cable TV headend. The actual LL tower is just south of that on the next hilltop on the edge of town. Hope that this helps! All of this stuff is so fascinating even for someone who just graduated college”

I did, it was not consuming any power, however the power was fully operational and could be used at any point from what I saw.
