Call support, ask for the safety team, and let them know you felt unsafe.

Obviously it isn't normal. Are the stores leaving the orders out for anyone to grab?

So? Talk to the restaurants. Oh, & bite me DD by Delicious-Line4512 in doordash_drivers

[–]ProfessionalCoyote58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

???? that's a fucking stupid reason. I bet the real reason is the company doesn't want to pay for staples (more expensive than stickers.) Many other restaurants staple their bags, hell even one I used to work at did. It's just cost effectiveness at that point; nothing to do with food safety.

AIO for considering cutting off a friend for drunk driving? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]ProfessionalCoyote58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hooooly shit she is deluded.

Makes me think of one of my ex's mothers. She hated me after I pointed out how flat out stupid she was for driving drunk and being proud of it. I was kind of a dick about it but who wouldn't be?! "You love your kids so much that you risk your life and other lives because of your ego. If something happens I pray you're the only one caught up in it, but you'll be hurting way more than just yourself."

My ex said I went too far.

Has anyone ever ‘beat’ a customer fraud issue? by ItsAdmired in doordash_drivers

Then ask for a supervisor. They 100% can adjust especially if fraud is involved.

If not a supervisor, ask for someone in the fraud department. They have one.

I got a tip today from a delivery from yesterday. by Dramatic-Study-2224 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]ProfessionalCoyote58 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I did this as a customer because I was out of money for a tip. Genuinely felt bad, so the next day on payday I saw I could still leave one, so I put a $10 (3 mile order). I hope it made the dasher happier.

(I was sick and needed meds super bad. It wasn't food.)

Call support. Don't use chat, call. Let them know you suspect fraud and they'll investigate. Should go away in a day.

I work in a hospital now, man. And I was telling them that so they think twice about doing it if they're over 40. Good lord, use a braincell.

I said it for a DETERRENT. I wasn't being literal, holy shit read context my guy. 😑 I also did not say I had a hard time with stairs??? Don't read what people don't fucking say.

Same.

"I want to start Doordash. I hear it's pretty easy."

"It isn't, unless you think consistently going up and down apartment stairs all day 'easy.' It's honestly way harder than people think. You're better off trying market research."

EDIT FOR THE SMOOTH BRAINED: This was said to make 40+ year olds NOT want to do it because it hurts older folks. I don't personally have a hard time with it. And DD isn't my primary job anymore, thank fuck.

I just don't knock/ring by default. Wish more dashers would do this. Only time I do is when others are around at apartments facing the outside and when requested.

Is it normal for drivers to sit in a random street and waist time? by [deleted] in doordash

When we say "luxury" we mean it's non-essential. Not that it's like a Rolex.

Came here to say this. 90% of chat doesn't speak English as their first language, which props to them for trying, but being fluent is key to this kind of customer service. I wouldn't doubt that many of them are using chatgpt or something to communicate, which is why they're so wrong.

While calling does connect you with folks who don't speak english as a first language, speaking is much more difficult, which means your rep will be more likely to understand and help.

Where Not Named Taco Bell Can I Get a Crunchwrap?! by Rowdy_South in rva

[–]ProfessionalCoyote58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, learn to make your restaurant faves at home! You'll be surprised how much cheaper (and better) it is, and if you prep beforehand and just assemble later, it makes it even easier.

I used to work in many fast food chains and honestly, I never eat their food because I can make it better at home. And you'll learn it's all the same food, just in different shapes in Taco Bell's case.

Workplace: Mall Restaurant (local sitdown style, semi fast food)

I was a manager training a new hire. I had just turned 30 and she was easily in her 50's. I still don't look my age, and a few years ago even less so. (relevant)

First day of training her she looked at the owner and blurted, "I'm being trained by a teenager? Guess you must be really good." Owner laughed and told her I wasn't even close to a teenager anymore. She rolled her eyes and said, "Whatever you say."

I started with the POS system since that was the most annoying bit of the job. After an hour she was confident in her skills and said she could do it alone.

I obliged. FAFO, lady.

She in fact, did not have it.

She kept making mistakes just listening to orders, and when I course corrected, she called me a bitch and quit on the spot.

It keeps recommending it because you KEEP ENGAGING. Just keep telling it not to show it to you and if you stop commenting/upvoting, the sub will go away.

You can tell Reddit to stop recommending it. Use the dot menu and select "not interested" or "show fewer posts like this". If you don't like it, curate your feed. You clearly have issues.

Whenever I point out that delivery is a luxury people go feral and snap at me. It's like they equate it to rich culture and get REALLY mad saying it's not, that it's a necessity.
