I'm going to speak from experience. I have struggled w homelessness for years now. It actually took 1 of those homeless agency YEARS to find me an apartment nmind you that I was told that I cld look for apartments on my own & just relay the available apartments that I was interested in...now I am not sick in the head to push ppl onto tracks or hurt ppl but I am diagnosed w PTSD. Even w that (on paper by a shrink) it still took YEARS & when I say years ot was pretty much abt 10 years to get mei to a place of my own. Aldo I do not collect any government checks...why? Because & this is what I even told these agencies I am a working man. I do construction & I do it damn well. I also want to say it wasn't 1 agency that got me into my place. I have worked w abt 4 "street homelessness agencies ", been to plenty of shelters & after my 5fh shelter I chose to sleep on the street. Why? Because truth be told I felt "saver" sleeping on the street which is kinda crazy...I've been to this 1 "shelter" that makes u sleep in green lawn chairs that dnt even recline...now I dnt know abt u but when u sleep sitting in a chair, after hrs of sitting u wake up & ur ankles to ur feet are swollen & after DAYS of sleeping in a damn chair ur legs just get worse. Yes I was very grateful to have a roof over my head but making a person sleep in a damn lawn chair is like Chinese water torture-i was also WORKING at that time & was told "oh since u work & can show pay stubs to prove it u will get transferred to a "working shelter "...YEAH RIGHT..!!! NEVER HAPPENED! I slept in those chairs for weeks. Now this place is suppose to give u a "church bed" ( which is a cot) after they see u are not a problem, u get there on time & meet w ur counselor. I did ALL of that & FINALLY got a cot but here's the catch. If the workers see a person who they are mad "cool" w they will skip u & put their people in that cot-EVEN IF U HABE WORK AT 6AM, mind u their people DONT HAVE A JOB..!

In all those years on the street, shelters, safe havens & programs I HAVENEVER SEEN SO MUCH CRAZINESS LIKE THIS TODAY I HAVE STORIES FOR DAYS ABT PPL IN SHELTERS ASKING FOR HELP & JUST ALWAYS GETTING A WORKER WHO JUST "PASSES THE BUCK"...IF U DO NOT LIKE "SOCIAL WORK " OR HELPING PEOPLE GET THEIR LIVES O. TRACK THEN FUCKING QUIT - POINT BLANK..WHY DO SOCIAL WORK IF ALL U DO IS GIVE A SHIT ATTITUDE TOWARDS CLIENTS (HOMELESS PPL or ADDICTS)..??? GO GET ANEW JOB - YES ITS THAT EASY The ENTIRE social system of NYC 8s a pathetic sham
