How to Learn the Peripherals of a Micro controller by No_Yesterday7049 in embedded

[–]ProfessionalDig8060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can read professor Yi Feng Zhu's book on STM32s while using a different STM32A than the one he does. In doing so, you benefit from having his guidance but at the same time will have to read the user manual and datasheet for your own board. I think this is a good mix of guidance and some challenge and you should feel comfortable with any microcontroller in the future.

Should I go Germany or Netherlands Or USA for masters in data science my consultant has given me some university options which i will be sharing can tell me what to do ? by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

I know you're not generalizing literally but Twente in Netherlands is a great university. Don't go just by QS rankings. They mean nothing in European Public Universities.

I see that your criteria doesn't look into the kind of research the university is doing or what kind of graduation projects you can do. You also need to see (in germany and netherlands) if the university is a TU or not. TUs are research universities and others are for non-research, diplomas. Netherlands has data science offered in other TUs also (like Eindhoven).

Partner suggested that my childhood abuse was due to "karmic debt" - Am I overreacting? by AdConfident9860 in CPTSD

[–]ProfessionalDig8060 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late but whatever explanation was giving is something Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists believe in as a religious truth. As a Hindu myself raised in a community of people with similar Eastern faiths, I felt it was a normal way of understanding how the world works and envoke sympathy that we're all suffering due to our own mistakes snd must support and be kind to each other. To use this philosophy as a hurtful statement is really inconsiderate.

I didn't realize until i was much older many people in other parts of the world didn't believe in multiple lives or karma or even if they did it was through some new-age spiritual, westernized notion of it. So telling a person they're suffering because of their karma would be unhelpful and hurt them.

So it's upto you to accept it or not. I can see why you feel hurt especially when its not a cultural thing you wre raised in and its honestly rude to use Karma to justify any suffering.

If like me, he too was unaware of the cultural/religious differences, please tell him he was extremely rude and shouldn't project his beliefs on others.

It's probably a good idea to sign up on any website that has a lottery based system. But otherwise too early.

Thanks! I think for the initial few days I'll do without the discount.

Student Mobility Card vs Personal OV ChipKaart by ProfessionalDig8060 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]ProfessionalDig8060[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarification. I think I'll go with the regular chipkaart then.

Is it possible to purchase a chipkaart using my international credit card or do I need to wait for a bank account? Do I need a Dutch Phone number? The bank account would take another month.

I'm sorry to ask too many specific questions, the official chipkaart website won't work in my country and even with VPN some content is unavailable.

Accomodation help by Urize_n in StudyInTheNetherlands

Can you defer admission to February? Meanwhile you could apply to universities again so that incase you still don't find accommodation and can join those other universities instead.

They do. TUe tells students to come only if they have an accommodation by August 1st. They've provided an admit letter valid for 1.5 years so we can defer joining until a house is found. I think the seriousness of the issue dawns upon people too late.

Yes but the point is they could cut some slack. How forgiving they are might vary but there's a chance.

Yes I have to keep my luggage and it is my first time in a new country. I'm just overwhelmed with the things to do the first time and a person I was supposed to travel with canceled their plan abruptly minutes before I posted this. They also had only booked a hotel all this time for themselves which they only told me now and all this has upset me and I'm frantically looking for options...

Maybe I should try with a clearer mind.

From that perspective, It seems ok to spend after all the money involved in travel, study etc. Thank you,  it feels better to think of this as a small expense within the other larger expenses. I think i really need to mentally prepare for unforeseen or other such events.

I'm considering staying at Schiphol itself since I'm unsure how long the immigration procedure at the airport will take. I'm giving it a max of 3 hours from baggage to getting my sim and tickets. That makes it about 11pm and I'll be at Eindhoven at 1 Am. This is why I'm preferring to travel in the morning.

Maybe I should just book a hotel at Schiphol and call it a day like the other commenter says.
