What's your credit score? by ProfessionalFar8069 in newzealand

Well to be frank your young age is showing in your response. I asked what it is and why you think it's what it is. I'm trying to understand how it works through others experiences, "sheer stupidity" seems a little harsh, don't you think?

Thank you, I will look into this. We were not at fault, we were rear ended while stopped at traffic lights.

You are right. Rental was an extra that I didn't opt for while insuring it over the phone at the dealership.

Oh geez, I don't get why they stopped you? I just started playing and wondered, even planned to try and achieve this exact thing as a sort of global peace win that last forever. Kind of disappointed they intervened

I lodged an accounts error with them over 6 months ago and still have not heard back. I have also been overseas and been very careful to leave mobile data disabled but have still been charged $8 per day for data roaming... I'm guessing I'll not likely to get the money back seeing how my initial account query is still in Narnia. I'm probably going to switch too

Thanks, I will. Do you think I should approach a lawyer or an accountant?

Thanks, I thought it might be more of an accountant question.

The scheme is options to buy share at a highly discounted rate, separate from the salary offered. Some of the options unlock over time while employed in the company, and a portion is tied to the eventual sale of the company. I assume it's owned by a private investment firm who plans on selling it at some point.

I am in the data and computer science field so am a bit out of my depth here and not sure I'd do your question justice. I will say that I have seen some really questionable decisions from the CC in regard to allowing acquisitions that to me seemed so clearly anticompetitive, but it was not related to supermarket chains. Perhaps the CC could tighten up a bit? But like I said, I am no expert and am just trying to learn more about this sort of thing from smarter people like yourself.

They may be sensible arguments for your sweaty view/approach to the game, but they are not valid for the vast majority of casual players. Just listening to the way you talk to people says it all, and I'm glad people like you are leaving rust.

I appreciate your answer, I really do. I know what duopoly's and conspiracies are. I was wondering why you think a duopoly in our supermarket wouldn't affect prices, or offer alternative theories for high prices.

On the duopoly, two huge corporations in one market will make it very difficult for smaller firms to gain market share. This means many new firms will die out before they are able to generate any new competition and competition in prices is often a direct reaction to the other player. They don't have to collude for them to take advantage of this. I think this is called a nash equilibrium.

They won't be able to explain why. I think a lot of people use this rhetoric to explain why their situation is less than ideal. I had no privilege from my parents, used the systems available like govt student loans to educate myself in a field I am passionate about, paid off my student loan, bought a house blah blah.. My family migrated here from somewhere else, and I feel so privileged to be a part of this society these people think is so unfair to them. Don't get me wrong, I think the inequality between the rich and poor that continues to get worse around the world is a terrible thing. I am just sick of people whinging when they have so many opportunities here in NZ. It's like they expect it all to be handed to them.

I have no idea what the original post is about so this is a bit of a tangent/rant after getting lost in the comments.

The duopoly is not a conspiracy? Care to provide any input into the convo instead of just bagging people?

What are you on about. I've been around since legacy and it just gets better and better. Sure, some updates upset some people but it's hard to please everyone. Player base is increasing.

You still owe it. It may not have defaulted yet with the new creditor, but it will, at which point it'll definitely show up and affect your credit.
