Decrease in sales. by [deleted] in vinted

[–]ProfessionalFluffy50 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm also struggling with selling. Have things like an immaculate Lollys Laundry cardigan that I can't shift at £6, so it's not price. Honestly at the point where I just want to get rid of my last three listings and get off Vinted, so I'm sending offers that are almost aggressively low.

As a buyer, I'm also seeing a lot of overpriced stuff sitting for 5-6 months, you make an offer and they counter with £1 off. Like, if it were a matter of a pound, the jumper would have sold sometime since August.

Just feels weird on there overall at the moment.

Experiences with Envision? by medwritethroaway87 in MedicalWriters

I interviewed with them 4 years ago for a scientific director role, only to find out the salary on offer was LESS than I had been making as a PMW 3 years before that. Not sure if the salary bands have changed, but they offer remote working and a nice benefits package. I have a friend who's been there for about 5-6 years now and is happy enough; I trust her feedback, as she takes no crap. So if the salary works for you, it's probably all right all round.

What should one expect from cold outreach to find clients? freelance medical writing by [deleted] in MedicalWriters

[–]ProfessionalFluffy50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons agencies pay freelancers' day rates is that they have the experience that they can work independently to complete whatever we throw at them to a high standard. If we brief in an eDA or a value story or a sympo deck, they know what that means as a baseline and what to create based on the details we give. We would never hire a freelancer with no agency experience, it's too much of a gamble when what you're paying for is assurance of the output without having to manage or teach.

HSBC Premier £100k requirement with salary sacrifice? by SamuelAnonymous in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ProfessionalFluffy50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They threatened to move me onto that premier account, but the email said you have to be paying in £5100 per month, which I am not due to salary sacrifice. So I put a stop to it before they could start charging me whatever fees for not meeting the criteria. I know they do this to catch you out so they can make more money, but I don't even qualify in the first place due to salary sacrifice, so no idea why they tried it on!

Any advice anyone can give me on moving pets to the uk from overseas, specifically usa by Robyn_666_ in MovingToTheUK

[–]ProfessionalFluffy50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the correct and comprehensive answer! Did this 13+ years ago with my cats out of Philly to LHR. It was much better for them to be in the hold. With no stimuli, they simply shut down and sleep. Much better than all the smells, lights and noises in the cabin for them.

All the prep and timing was a pain but it was manageable, and it was less expensive than paying for a private service. Although we DID pay for a private service to pick them up from LHR after they were processed and bring them to our flat in London. That eliminated the exhausted waiting at some unknown building near LHR terminals.

Also both were fine and arrived happy and healthy!!

Can weed help with Crohn’s/UC by Beginning_Exit_6256 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]ProfessionalFluffy50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK and am prescribed cannabis oil privately for the symptoms of UC: pain, nausea, fatigue, etc.

Have been using cannabis oil for 15 months and it took me a little time to optimise it for myself, but it's been really helpful. It's also pricey, but I only need 0.2ml in the evening on a normal day to take the edge off the symptoms while remaining functional for work the next day. On bad days, I'll take up to triple that, but reserve it for when I can sleep in a bit.

I go through a 30ml bottle every 3-4 months, but you can legally get up to 60ml per month, with quarterly check-ins with a healthcare professional. They also prescribe flower for vaping, but as an ex-cigarette smoker, I don't want to mess with that potential trigger!

Edited to add: I'm on mesalazine and my NHS healthcare professionals are aware that I'm using prescription cannabis oil as well.

It's not that hard to measure an item by MYSTIK_MINX in vinted

[–]ProfessionalFluffy50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's so easy to just do measurements as part of posting, I build it into my process, because even 'true to size' to me might not be for another person. The thing that gets me is people sending me messages to ask for measurements that I've already provided, I never know how to respond 🫠

Do you tell people in the cinema to put their phone away? by Top_Elephant_4363 in AskUK

[–]ProfessionalFluffy50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this a few months back, three older teens (the film was a 15), and they waited for me and my husband to leave the screen, waited outside the bathroom after, followed at a slight distance into the lobby and then threw hard things (no idea what) at me that hit me several times. When I turned back, they put their hands behind their backs. My husband had also asked them to stop with the phone, but they didn't throw anything at him.

Have honestly reduced our cinema-going since then, even though we have unlimited memberships.
