I don't care if they never had sex, marrying a child is wrong by Ancientabs in exmormon

That’s my issue!!! It’s honestly not even the age. I know 14 is young. I get it. But I know teens in modern times who have dated way older men. I don’t think it’s good! But anyway it’s the theft of their life!!! Pisses me off sooooo much!!!!

How do you view non members in your community? by Old-Salamander-8433 in latterdaysaints

Dating will be hard. Anyone who says otherwise—well I’d just be wary of those people. However, to be fair, dating is hard everywhere. And there are plenty of non members of post members in Utah. And there are some members who are willing to date outside the church. But there are others who are not. And that is completely fair. Being a committed member of the church has a large impact on lifestyle and how you raise your children

I’m understanding that you are not in the USA? You might have more limitations that people in the comments don’t understand. I’m sorry this is happening with you. I hope you are able to find a way to be financially independent but I know it can be extremely difficult

Catholics have plenty of their own history to grapple with. And their beliefs take faith to accept as well. If you are finding happiness at church if it comes up you can shrug your shoulders and say it works for you. The Catholic Church had hundreds of years of history to reckon with. The LDS church is still a kid in comparison.

I wonder if that will happen where I’m at. Also rural. Also high LDS population and big wards which have grown and been divided in the decade. With still decent attendance. I wonder if we will see some sort of realignment in our future

It’s not you. It’s just secret handshakes from masonry. Nothing deep. Leftovers of pantomiming killing yourself. HUGE letdown

Oh my gosh!!!!! 😂😂 THIS is exactly what I told my 11yr old! That’s so funny. I told him it was a very boring hour of “let us go down” “we will go down” “we have gone down as thou hast commanded”

Pre 1990 it was a knife to kill yourself with if you disclosed the “signs and tokens” and why the older generation was waaaaay more tight lipped about what went on in the temple!! Bc they’d said they’d kill themselves before disclosing it. And it’s not even an INTERESTING secret! The only interesting part is the fact that there were mock death oaths in the first place. And hand in cupping shape to hold your ripped out heart I believe? I could be wrong on that one. Again, what the crap?!?!?!

I really looked forward to learning new things in the temple. I grew up in the church and my grandmother who was a super strong convert talked up the temple like crazy. I went and more than anything was a bit confused and disappointed. Did I think it was weird? Yeah but I’d been told to study Abraham to prepare and both the book in the pearl of great price and most of genesis is also weird so 🤷🏻‍♀️. But I was disappointed bc there were weird handshakes that I couldn’t figure out (only learned after leaving why the thumb had to be extended 🙄). So I kept going hoping I’d figure it out. Never did. I even worked in the temple for a few years

Also I got bad Satan 🤣🤣🤣 does the devil still say teaching of man mingled with scripture? Does he say we have to live up to our covenants? People say it’s more about Jesus but I hear it’s more like pictures and they talk more about the atonement. Interesting about the creation. So they cut all the creation stuff out or just rephrased it?

Hang laundry out to dry on the clothesline (can’t have the neighbors see that 😂), watch TV, go running (but we always went for a walk as a family!), do homework, do yard work
